Smith & Wesson and Safariland Named Match Sponsors for 2008 USPSA Area 7 Match

Sedro-Woolley, WA — Rob Boudrie, the United States Practical Shooting Association (USPSA) Area 7 Director, announced that Smith & Wesson and Safariland, two of the most prominent supporters of the sport of Practical Shooting, have signed on as match sponsors for the 2008 USPSA Area 7 Championships June 6-8 at the Harvard Sportsmen’s Club in Harvard, Massachusetts.

“Smith & Wesson and Safariland both have long and distinguished records of supporting the shooting sports and Practical Shooting in particular. Thanks to their generous sponsorship of the 2008 Area 7 Championships competitors can look forward to an exciting match,” said Rob Boudrie, USPSA Area 7 Director.

Additional sponsors include Springfield Armory and Glock, as well as numerous other companies whose primary customer is the competitive shooter.

Over of 200 top shooters from across America, including members of the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit, are expected to battle their way through 10 challenging stages for titles in USPSA’s Open, Limited, Limited-10, Production, Revolver and Single Stack divisions. Additionally honors will be awarded in the categories of High Lady, Senior, Super Senior and Junior Shooter.

Area 7 is comprised of the states of Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island and Vermont. It is one of the eight USPSA shooting regions in the country. The Area championship matches are used by shooters to tune their skills and size up the competition leading up to the USPSA National Championships in September.
