British Columbia's Fisher Defends USPSA Area 1 Limited-10 Title
Sedro-Woolley, WA — Randy Fisher of New Westminster, British Columbia successfully defended his Limited-10 Championship at the United States Practical Shooting Association’s (USPSA) Area 1 match held June 26-29 in Sherwood, Oregon.
“We had a strong contingent of shooter in the Limited-10 Division and Randy shot another excellent match to capture his second Area 1 Limited-10 title in row. It’s never easy to repeat anytime you step onto a USPSA shooting range as the defending champ, but that’s especially true here in the Northwest where we have so many strong shooters,” said Bruce Gary, USPSA’s Area 1 Director.
Finishing in second place behind Fisher was Trevor Ott of Sheridan, Oregon who won the Single Stack title in 2007 and the Limited-10 title in 2006. Coming in third was John Hill of Roswell, New Mexico. Scott Scheitzach of Spanaway, Washington narrowly edged out Mike Brown of Troy, Idaho by a margin of less than two match points to claim fourth and fifth respectively.
The USPSA Area 1 Championships were held at the Tri-County Gun Club in Sherwood, Oregon. A total of 300 top shooters competed in USPSA’s Open, Limited, Limited-10, Production, Revolver and Single Stack divisions. The USPSA Area 1 region includes Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming but competitors from Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Texas, Virginia and British Columbia, Canada attended.
