The complete kit comes with everything needed to convert the shooter’s favorite handgun to shoot caliber .177 pellets; the shooter supplies the pellets and primers. Each barrel adaptor tube is fitted with corrective rubber “O”-ringed bushings to assure proper alignment and fit with absolutely no harm to the bore of the firearm. Cartridges are machined from brass to dimension specifications of standard ammunition. Kits are available for handguns in the following calibers: .380, 9mm, .38 Spec., .357 Mag., .44 Mag., .45 ACP, and .45 LC. The Deluxe Brass Rifled Barrel Convert-a-Pell kit is available in barrel lengths from 1″ to 8 3/8″. Other calibers and barrel lengths are produced on a special order basis. The primer and pellet are all that is needed, in conjunction with the kit, to enjoy inexpensive shooting with your favorite revolver or automatic pistol. Each kit contains one barrel tube adaptor and six cartridges. Complete instructions, extra “O”-rings, and warranty are also included.

It's different. For backyard/basement plinking and practice I use regular air guns that are fairly good representations of a lot of my firearms sans the recoil. A few of the ones that I have are:

Eventually, I'll build an old time shooting gallery for them. I already have a lot of the targets, both stationary and moving and the basic layout plan I'll be using but it'll have wait until I have some free time. I'd also like to be able to use these on it for some of my single actions:

I wonder how just a primer will cycle the action?

Might make more sense to use in a wheel gun for this reason. But once you've shot your 6 cartridges, you need to go a de/re-prime all of them before you can take another 6 shots? No thanks.

Cool as a proof of concept. This is still a firearm though, and if you're in MA you would probably want to shoot it at your local pistol range.

ETA: I wonder what velocities this makes. If the pellets are subsonic I say the whole idea's garbage.

ETAETA: I answered my own question.

Q.What is the velocity of the handgun kits?
A. Velocity averages about 500 fps.

Q.How accurately will they shoot?
A. Kits will shoot groups of 1" or better at 20 feet.

Q.How far will they shoot?
A. The best accuracy range is 20 to 25 feet, though they will shoot farther in distance.

and it looks like they don't prevent you from loading real ammo

Q.What will happen if I shoot my handgun with regular ammo while the Convert-a-Pell barrel is in place?
A. You will damage your handgun, possibly yourself and bystanders! Read the instructions completely before you use Convert-a-Pell.

lol!
