I picked up a used .223 barrel on NES 2 years ago. The seller was honest and told me he had a hard time hitting the target consistently.
This is what I found:
I don't remember but I don't think the front sight and gas tube were pinned.
I replaced the alignment pin and then tried my hand at re-crowning the muzzle.
I completed the upper this week and will have another photo soon. I hope to try it out in the next few days.
