Description : A WWII September 1943 Springfield Armory M1 Garand that was reworked by the US Navy in 1965 to 7.62 NATO (7.62x51mm [.308]). These conversions were performed on US government contract by Harrington & Richardson in Worcester, MA and American Machine & Foundry in York, PA by using a specially contracted barrel produced in 1965 and 1966 by Springfield Armory. These rifles were tested and calibrated at the Naval Weapons Facility at Crane, IN and became designated as the US Rifle MK2Mod1. All original USGI with an excellent, original wood stock set. Complete with all paperwork.
