Epic gunfights to ensue if passed.

Shoot first, ask questions later........no correction, DON'T ask any questions, just stack the corpses.

When the pile gets high enough, someone in government is going to have to notice.

Troll the Donks by asking one of the relatively flea-brained non-sponsors
to comment on the new Mandatory Handgun Confiscation bill.
Hank "Guam" Johnson, Debbie "Blabbermouth" Schultz...supply your own example - you know the type.

They of course won't be able to resist running their mouth; at length.

You'll get them to either produce an embarrassing sound bite,
or get them to reveal something we're not supposed to know.

Won't happen. It will be, for the most part, civil disobedience via noncompliance. If Mexico is any example, outlawing or severely restricting them from civilian possession will drive the black market. Most Mexicans who buy handguns purchase 9mm and .45 ACP models from corrupt cops. The one official gun store is run by military, with very limited and overpriced small caliber firearms only for civilian purchase.
