I came across this today and was wondering if anyone has any experience with it? Or any other similar items?

Just hire a bunch of mexicans. It's not illegal to be one more felonious.

You comrades realize that this is basically two bars that let brass drop along the way. I.e. you can easily build shit yourself for under 100$

1200 bucks!! hell, i'm old school, i just tumble one caliber at a time, no need to sort

This. I just tumble cases that won't get stuck inside each other like 9mm and 357 mag, 30-06/30 carbine/7.62x25, then 44 magnum by itself.

I have the colored bins. They work okay, but I was wondering if others had put together something more substantial.

I've see some ideas on youtube. I was just hoping to find a solution that worked for you.

For the record, I'm a home reloader too. Although I have been tossing around the idea of considering going the commercial route.

I get a lot of range brass, all different calibers. I just sit at my bench with Netflix playing on my computer and 6-8 small bread pans in front of me. I pour the brass into an old cake pan and sort it out into the bread pans while I watch a movie...the only ones I have a problem with and I have to be a bit more careful sorting is 9mm and 380acp. The brass looks almost identical, the 380 being ever so slightly shorter

Works for me...YMMV

I have an Ultimate Sorter it does make a lot of noise.
It works pretty well - there are several steps needed to sort - first trays separates into three bins - 9mm, .380 and 38super / .40, 357Sig 38Sp, 357 / 44, 45.
Next tray/step separates the .380 from the 9mm + 38 super - you need to hand sort between 9mm and 38 Super.
Another tray separates the 40+357sig and 38spl + 357 - you need to hand sort the 40 and 357Sig as well as the 38spl and 357.
Another tray separates the 45 and 44 and 50 I think.

I think the trick is to not put a lot in the top section at one time. I saw a guy online that had fabricated an electric feed hopper that slowly feed brass into the top section - this allows time to separate the cases that are together.
If anyone is seriously interested I could show you the unit.

I know I'll get yelled at, but:
you have to inspect each case any way, so inspect and sort at the same time.
You spend $1200 on a great sorter, and, as far as I'm concerned, you STILL have to inspect each case. You can inspect before you load or after you load.

I use the three tray system which cost me about $30 and has worked just fine for several years. No way I am going to pay all that $$$ for an automated solution to a problem I have yet to encounter. Getting the brass separated from the media is another matter altogether. I am open to suggestions in this area. I have found the rotary drums less than perfect and have gone back to a sifter lid.

Yup. It's a time-consuming tedious task, but if you want to do it right, you need to do it.

What problem were you having with the rotary separators? The RCBS one I have has been awesome. The only complaint I have is that it's not big enough. I have the large Dillon separator, but without a cover you need to go slow.

For small batches of brass I use the three tray system - but for larger quantities the Ultimate Sorter has worked well.
My motivation to get the sorter was when I had over 2,000 pounds of brass to sort - It's by no means a perfect solution but is much quicker than by hand or the three tray system.

Here's a short video:

Not big enough and the kick up too much dust.

I take my separator outside to use it - don't want the lead laden dust in the house.

Same here. I tumble and separate media outside my house on my porch. My neighbor is always wondering what the noise is when I have the tumbler full of brass lol.
