Houston police said the homeowner invited the relative to his home on Westleigh Drive near Westhorpe Drive for Thanksgiving.

Investigators said the relative was recently released from prison on burglary charges.

The homeowner got into an argument with the relative and the relative was asked to leave, police said.

Police said at about 2:15 a.m. Thursday the relative came back to the house. The relative gained entry into the home by breaking a window and unlocking a door.....

Police say a Houston homeowner fatally shot a Thanksgiving holiday visitor after the acquaintance was kicked out of the home and then forced his way back in.

Houston police said the man allegedly became belligerent about 2 a.m. Thursday and assaulted the homeowner, leading to a struggle.

Authorities said the homeowner removed the man and locked the door.

Reports say the man stood outside yelling before allegedly breaking a front door window and reaching inside to unlock the door.

Police say the man ignored repeated warnings not to enter the home.....
