A bullet fragment struck a TV reporter at a shooting range during a campaign event on Tuesday for U.S. Senate candidate Lucas Kunce, who provided first aid to the journalist. Kunce, a Democrat, was at a private residence near Holt north of Kansas City with former U.S. Rep. Adam Kinzinger, an Illinois Republican, when a fragment appeared to have ricocheted off a target. Kunce was shooting an AR-15 at the time, and was the only person shooting when the injury occurred.

That link is dead, but there's more here:

Here's a photo from the event:

Cool. Shooting at steel from, what, 5 yards away. Shooting at targets 5 yards away using scopes. Shooting with your eye protection on top of your head instead of over your eyes. Shooting at steel 5 yards away while standing over tannerite. Holding your gun at low ready while pointing it at cans of tannerite 3 feet away.

Bonus points if you recognize the dipstick in the pale blue shirt.

Fwiw the tannerite doesn't look like it's been mixed yet it's still white......its steel grey once it's mixed and ready.

But all other points are valid......shooting steel with a rifle at 5 yards.....someone's gonna catch some frag

Wow.... Just wow.... What a f***ing idiot...

c***z is running against Josh Hawley, a Senator from MO. the dems despise him because he holds their feet to the fire and asks them uncomfortable questions.

  • Do you generally support gun-control legislation? "Yes" (justfacts.votesmart.org)
  • "I've been in urban and rural Missouri, and everyone agrees that we need background checks and red flag laws so that we can prevent criminals, teenagers, and terrorists from accessing guns. The fact that Congress still hasn't been able to pass these is a disgrace. We need to abolish the filibuster and pass commonsense gun safety legislation. We also need to invest in training programs. When I joined the Marines, I wasn't just handed a weapon. I went through extensive background checks and proper training. Training programs will help reduce gun violence and create safer communities."

I assume he was trying to pretend he is pro gun

At least he had eye protection and hearing. But 5 yards? I’ve caught some stuff from 15 yards.

Back in Manville during the SASS shoots there eons ago, I caught a piece of shrapnel from the NEXT RANGE OVER. It had to have double-riccochet'd. No blood drawn. But that was with lead and steel and wimpy loads.

That distance to the steel looks maybe 40' ? Theres a very good reason the safe minimum distance for a typical centerfire rifle steel target is 100 yds. And of course a bystander gets injured , not the negligent shooters.
