Someone might want to fly the flag of the losing side because they agree with their philosophy but probably just to piss off the liberals.

So you are fine with an AR-15 being called a "High Powered Assault Rifle only fit for the battlefield" or a "Deadly weapon of war not fit for civilian use" that uses "thirty round assault clips"?

I mean, we know what THEY mean, but it doesn't really matter since it is all semantics.

When we were in Kentucky for the Eclipse they were for sale at a yard sale, new in wrapper.

They unfortunately knew that Griswold was worth something, though. [sad]

Online, there is quite a choice of USA made flags.

Their web site says they do not sell the the public, you have to find a dealer.

No it doesn't matter. They can associate any term with anything they want. I may not agree with their bad ideas on the topic, but they still enjoy freedom of speech.

Yeah, but without the grammar and semantic nazis, I would not recognize NES. That's how I authenticate the site and ensure that I have not clicked on some sort of NSA developed clone site.

Maybe make some, “I’m a douchebag” signs instead of stars and bars? Net effect will be the same.

Because of the effort by Southern propagandists to say the war was about state rights, not slavery.

The first seven states to secede named slavery explicitly as the reason for secession. The state’s right argument was an attempt to broaden their appeal to the fiercely independent (and mostly non slave owning) Scots Irish And others.

The irony is that the CSA had a substantial portion of their troops stationed in border states to prevent thrm from rejoining the union.

Yeah, what kind of dumb generals would place troops at their border with the enemy. [rolleyes] Sure, there were locations in the South that were packed with Union sympathizers, but c'mon...

That said, cronyism and the resulting dumb generals were a problem for the South, but that's another topic...

Somewhere on the internet one liberal is admonishing another liberal for using the term “assault rifle” and explaining the whole single shot/ burst/ full auto feature.

Why are you looking so hard for a symbol that represents the Democrats, which might get your house vandalized by Democrats?

    Ok, I'm gonna play..

    HE HE

    Here we go...

Let's say for sake of discussion that the slaves weren't Africans and their descendants. Let's pretend that the slaves were actually the disenfranchised poor whites, who were disenfranchised because of slavery, mind you.
(Low wage employees can't compete with no wage slaves.)
Do you really think that those in power who had just lost would want their now free former white slaves running around with guns?
    Hell no!
Same goes for people they just fought and lost against.
There are plenty of examples through history where weapons are taken from the poor by those with wealth and power to defend their position at the top of the pyramid. And race had nothing to do with the powerful wanting to restrict the rights of the politically weak.

I'm not denying the racial aspect of what happened in the South. BUT, to say that gun control in the south was just because of racism or Democrats is a simplistic argument.

    [popcorn][popcorn][popcorn]

Not only is his argument simplistic, it had/has nothing to do with my comment about those in the former confederate states still having their guns and their virtually unimpeded GUN RIGHTS as opposed to a significant number of northern states who's rights have been and are diminished to the point of almost being nil.
