Transporting AR in vehicle

Just bought an M&P15 Sport from Four Season, now just want to be clear on a few things before I start traveling around to ranges with it.

I'll have a hard case for it, and the case will be locked. Am I allowed to keep loaded magazines in the same case with it at all times? Or do they need to be emptied?

What about loaded mags in a range bag also in the trunk with it?

Or must I only carry the mags empty in the vehicle?

You can carry loaded magazines in your vehicle. There is no law preventing them from being in the same bag with the gun. Personally, though, I'd keep the mags in the range bag.
