I've read the other threads on transportation through RI and read
A person licensed to carry in another state, provided he is merely
transporting the weapon through the state with no intent to detain
himself or remain within Rhode Island.

I'm looking for an opinion on this specific situation, I have an LTC-A in MA, if I have a WASR-10 and Glock stored unloaded in a locked trunk, before going to a range in Massachusetts can I legally cross into Rhode Island to pick up a friend and come back to Massachusetts to go to a range? Does this count as an uninterupted journey through the state?

No, I would say that if you're picking somebody up then your destination was within RI, not through RI. So neither the federal safe passage law nor the RI state law would apply. But, see my sig line...

Suppose you live in RI where you do not have a CCW license, and you are traveling to MA where you have a non-res. Can you go from RI to MA under this law if you are not stopping in RI?

Any takers?

Weird. Apparently if I shoot on private land, owned by a family member, I can't transport a handgun to the property legally? Am I reading that correctly? based on the answer I got on cralri I can't. Odd.
