Transfer from out of state family member

Rifles are no problem if they are MA AWB compliant. Handguns are a problem unless you can find an FFL willing to give the finger to the law. No trouble on your part, the risk is on the dealer.
ETA: be careful on mags coming with the gun that are hi cap. They still have to be pre ban if you take possession of them.
ETA x2: I am also assuming that by transfer you mean through an FFL. No personal transfer over state lines

You need to be residents of the same state to legally transfer a firearm without an FFL.
