Trail camera thread. Post ur trail camera photos.

Did you get the mutton from this one for the family?
It was 9:00 Sunday night, it was 74° and I was 157 miles from home. The Chief and I were calling around to see if we could find someone to process the Moose before it started to turn. This was the first night the Chief had worked in months. He said ordinarily he would be the one to call. He finally found a guy to come for it. He had a little Landscape Trailer and pulled it up with a come-o-long. I held up the back legs so he could close the fold down rear gate. He asked what I wanted, I said my wife wants the liver, I want the head for a mount and whatever meat you can spare. He swung by the Police Station with the head but the whole left side of his skull was busted into a million pieces. I was hoping for a European mount, but I said just give me the Antlers. He finished up around 5:00 AM. Needles to say I stayed one more night up in America. The chief brought me back to the house. I invited him in and there's my Dad in his recliner in just his tighty whiteys, it was a very warm night. The guy showed up at the house early that afternoon with the Antlers, some Back-strap, Loin and Burger Meat. The liver didn't make it. I guess my truck made a mess of one side of that Moose.

The Chief took this picture of me, his friend and a Bethlehem Fireman.

When my Dad bought the house, I told him to by the Freezer too. Never even plugged it in until that night. I asked the guy if he had enough Meat. I said you're entitled too all of it, you did all the work. He said he's got enough and he couldn't fit any more because he still had a lot of Bear Meat still from last year.

How do you like the Moultrie China cam?

I’ve had to return 2 Camparks now. Both had excessive battery draw and would leave either 1 battery completely dead out of 8 or 6 completely dead with 2 fully charged. The last camera that failed was left 17 days in the field with not one video except the one with me fidgeting with it the day I left. I was pissed.

So So. It's about 3 years old, and does seem to use batteries.

This guy just started tearing up the ground making scrapes all over.

Obviously my buck of choice this year- I have no chance at this thing though, he's big, old, and his game is on point. Experientially speaking I'm young, dumb, and will get winded a mile off.

This second one though, he looks a bit peculiar.

Nice sized buck out of 4 others caught on the same camera these past 2 weeks. No broadside shot unfortunately.

Wish I got my bucks on daytime vids but everyone of them is traveling by at 8-11pm or 3-4am. What gives? I need to be trained in the timing issues of my deer habits. I possibly have to move either further down or further up from my current spot since when I actually sit for shotgun and muzzleloader I don’t want to miss an opportunity.

Oh that's a one off daytime shot, every other photo is after 9. I hope the rut makes him stupid, if not I'm going to have to go get him. Basically the photo has helped me get an idea of where he lives and which direction he travels.

I've caught him twice on that camera, each time headed opposite directions. One other time I caught him on a second camera, 3/4 of a mile to this cameras left. In the two unseen photos he was chasing a pair of does that hit both cameras frequently, this tells me he likely lives close, and by size in the swampy area off to the right of the photo where he'd be well protected.

I basically have 4 weekends to bag him, realistically though if he's not down by the 16th I'll be lowering my standards, food > points. Hopefully he'll get stupid in the rut, but I highly doubt it.

Anyone know whats up with this deer's nose? Can't find anything about pink noses outside of albino's and piebald's.

Also, if this buck goes down to our hunting party I swear to god I'll tell the kids we bagged Rudolph.
