And it was a surprisingly great time!

Mind you, I'm talking about LIBERAL MILLENIALS (i.e. cambridge somerville SJWs anti-trump socialist etc.)

My outdoor adventure group made an event to go target shooting in manchester. I figured I should bring some stuff just in case and show everyone a good time. Almost everyone was brand spanking new to guns, and they were all enthusiastic about the event.

I brought an AR, AK, and 2 pistols which was enough for everyone to take turns shooting (this also saved on rentals). Me and a RSO held down our own lane teaching gun safety and shooting technique.

My goal was for them to safely shoot and at least experience shooting a gun, even if imperfect. Most of the group were girls and they seemed to like the AR over the AK (and the Beretta over the Sig).

Everyone got to try a full auto MP5 as well. Glad they got that experience.

It's amazing that all it takes is some hands-on experience to open up peoples minds.

The group organizer is already planning another trip

Their posts on social media:
"Shot some guns yesterday. Now I know what they are capable of. No civilian should be allowed to own things like these".
This is one of those things if they were full anti they'd have the same opinion anyway. You try anyway and get the fence sitters or the unknowledgeable. Besides most naive peeps think the AR is a magical machine gun, once they have to lift the thing and pull the trigger and aim it hits them. It's just like any other gun.

All my AR barrels are made of unicorn horns, so they are magical.

Nice work. Was it at MFL? Like how you're not going easy on them by shooting rifles indoors. Need some video footage of limp-wristed millenials shooting. The more ridiculous, the better.

I would rather they not be exposed to them tbh. Leftism is a cult, even if they enjoyed themselves or learned something theyll never admit it, even to themselves. Given the opportunity theyll vote for any gun control thats put in front of them.

Unfortunately, I got the impression that they were there to shoot and that's it. I brought up some 2A and licensing stuff briefly but none were really interested.

You’re doing the Lord’s work. I think you will also find that many new shooters (usually women) will do the arching of the back when shooting a rifle.
Its like theyre trying to get as far away as possible while still holding the gun.

OP did anyone do the bazooka thing? First time I put an M1 in my sisters hands she put the stock up on top of her shoulder aside her neck like it was an RPG. I was like wtf are you doin?

They've been brainwashed by liberal teachers and Pols into thinking the govt.(except the Trump govt.) is there to protect them. Self help is not taught nor encouraged.

I boycott liberals when I go shooting, a waste of time and ammo as far as i'm concerned. no matter how smiley and chipper they are after a day at the range shooting benign paper targets, all that is forgotten when the next school mass shooting happens.

Then you hear this, I believe in the 2nd amendment but....

You brought # of antis into the Fudd category. maybe.

When you take people with different viewpoints to the range, there is no need to bring up politics, and it is likely that in the short term, you will not affect their views. That is OK, the important part is to create a fun safe experience, and share some actual information. Even if it seems to have no effect, stick with the plan to provide safe and fun training. In the longer term, positive things may happen.

People are more afraid of the unknown than they are of things that they know, but don't like. If you bring firearms into the known sphere for people, they won't have as strong emotional reaction against them. Even if they still vote against you, they likely won't be as strongly motivated about it.

Also, if they know a little about firearms, they will find themselves in strange situations down the road. For example, they will hear people they support say things like: only right-wing rednecks go to gun ranges, semi-automatic rifles have no purpose and are not even fun to shoot, gun owners don't care about safety. They will know these things are untrue, and it will force them to think about other things they hear from the same sources.

I am a fan of planting good seeds, and then giving them time to grow, even if you never hear about it. Good job to the OP.

I disagree. There are a lot of young folks out there who have only heard the propaganda that their schools, parents, and friends have fed them. When exposed to shooting and hunting they often become some of the strongest and most active pro 2A supporters.
Move a kid from Boston to the back woods for a summer of shooting sports, or even a few weekends. There will be an attitude change

I saw a couple at the range once where the husband did the arched back and his wife yelled at him about it. "What are you doing?!" Hilarious.
