Took a liberal to the range

make sure everyone around you at the range is also very safe, better yet, go when it is just you two. Knuckleheads doing mag dumps in an adjacent lane give a bad impression

Good Luck!!!

I've tried it in the past, was only 1000% more disappointed than before I did it. Won't do it anymore, its not worth it.

I have no "liberal anti" friends nor do I care to ever have any, or try to change their minds so its like pissing good money/ammo down the drain for a lost cause.

Let them pay to play, just like we have to is now my stand on the matter.

Generally, when it comes to trying to convert liberals, I follow the adage "never try to teach a pig to sing. It doesn't work and only ends up annoying the pig."

That being said, change is possible, at least for some people. I never was an outright "anti-" but I sure was a long-haired liberal bastard. I marched in the streets. I worked for lefty organizations. I didn't have a problem banning scary "assault weapons" and I thought the primary role of government was to solve societal ills.

I credit my personal "awakening" to three things:
1. Being ready - over the years I had accumulated enough facts that didn't fit and that I just couldn't ignore any longer.
2. Reading "Atlas Shrugged."
3. Having a co-worker take me to the range, get me into pistol shooting and very quickly thereafter into an LTC.

Once I got into shooting, and began to experience the insanity of the MA gun laws and the anti-gun bigotry of the left firsthand, I began to see even more clearly how insane the current political/social situation is in western civilization. The journey continues.

Yup, I'm outing myself. This is my past. I was what I was and I am what I am and I make apologies to no one.

Are you bring an AR? The fact that it looks so scary yet is so easy to shoot could help the cause.

Good luck and +1 for the conversion attempt.

I've seen so many people where the primary reason they are an anti is that they were taught to be one and never explored the issue on their own.

The training was so effective, they were terrified to even think about looking into it and trying it.

When they do, whether consciously or not, the entire regime of conditioning starts to melt away as it was a house of cards to begin with.

Just stay off general politics and stick to guns.

Converting someone from anti-gun to neutral or pro gun isn't hard. All the facts are on our side.

Trying to change someone's general politics is usually a waste of time and will get in the way of changing his views on guns.

Plus, at least in MA, getting someone to be pro-gun or at least neutral on the subject often shows them how screwed up the rest of the politics are here.

Indeed, though even amongst gun owners the disbelief is strong with these ones...

There is an awful lot of "well, it's not me" and "they will fix it" going on...

Find yourself in the wrong town, up against the wrong DA and you will be held without bail for having an LTC...

This...reactive targets are usually way more fun. Even if it's just some clays on the berm. Don't forget there's also bottles of water, cheap cans of soda etc. [wink]

I usually scrounge the trap range for whole clays. I'll lay 20-30 of those on the 100yd berm on the rifle range and plug those with the .22, .17 (if there's no wind, lol), or mosin. I like water bottles, too. No mess, no ground stains to announce "I was here", especially at the club. And I never leave bottles behind. My trash, my responsibility, pretty simple.

That right there tells you alot about the superficiality of their character. They'll not get their education at my expense.

I think this is good advice, particularly given the proliferation of left-leaning shooters these days.

You can educate them now or fight them later when they try to impose a police state on you...

There are certainly people with whom I will not waste a second, but there then there is everyone else...

Lighten up Francis...
