"Some students said the presence of guns on school property -- even though they are air rifles not considered firearms -- sends a mixed message and can be uncomfortable for teens in an era of frequent school shootings.

Boys are not allowed to wear bandannas and girls cannot wear ripped clothes to school because it can be distracting, Nashua North senior Patrick Gillis said. Air rifles on school grounds would be more distracting than certain prohibited clothing, he told the board."

Someone threw a bat at me when I was a kid. I would be very uncomfortable with baseball bats being on school property. It sends a mixed message. #battery survivor

p.s. it hit me in the shin and hurt like a m*****rf****r!

I've been shooting for as long as I can remember. And, I ain't a kid anymore! No injuries.

I was a Chess Club Dad at my kids' elementary school and got a scar from it.

    Ban Chess.

The future army will have no firearms, they will be issued a whistle and a white flag and will wear bright green uniforms so no one shoots them.

So something he would have to deliberately go out of his way to see would distract him just because he knows of its existence?

Sounds like school administration induced mental illness. They all should be sued into bankruptcy.

LOL. Idiots. Let me repeat — IDIOTS.

They should not come near our home. They might sheet their pants.
We have targets in the back yard and 5 air rifles for fun.
Some are break barrel and others are CO2.
Visitors are given a quick lesson and it is hard to get most of them back in the house.
I have to replace the targets every couple weeks because they become full of holes.
The only problem is that pellets and CO2 cylinders are costing me as much as I spend on wine - and I drink a lot of it!

PS - thank God for Walmart where the prices for pellets and CO2 are the lowest around here.

    For the skeeters. [grin]

And don't laugh about that whistle thing. When Googling around for the AT thread, I found that the National Park Service recommends carrying a whistle in lieu of firearms on the trail. [thinking]

My local USMC JROTC continually wins national awards. I spoke with the CO and offered my club, weapons and ammo for them to shoot. I figured they would love the M1 30 cal Carbines. He sadly refused, as he had tried multiple times and the school department stepped on it each time.

You’re making me sad, my local club banned me from using my AMT Automag 3 in .30 Carbine on the range because it’s a “Rifle” caliber... I tried to explain that out of 6.5 inch barrel it is less then a hot .357 Magnum since it is only a 110 grain bullet going at around 1600 FPS... . The 3 foot muzzle flash and very loud bang probably didn’t help much...

I seem to recall that Billerica Memorial High School had a shooting range in the basement when I attended in the 80's. A few of my friends were in JROTC and used to get to shoot down there. I'm guessing it is probably long gone...

I live in Nashua and was at the Board of Ed meetings. My daughter goes to that school. They have a great USAF JROTC contingent of 95 students. They need more so they want an air rifle marksmanship program to entice new members. (It has worked in other schools) The range would be 10 yards (no big deal) and they wanted to practice on a range that could be broken down and put away. The BOE approved the program but the issue was whether to allow the range on school property. Once the word got out, the more sensitive students complained (plus two board members said they don't like guns) and a female student posted on social media to get support for disallowing the program. Her post was shared by a school board member (who is conservative and at odds with the left leaning members.) The student allegedly got threats over the post and the board member who shared the original post is being forced to resign because she "identified a student" even thought it was a public post. The Nashua Teachers Union called for the board member to resign and so has the local NAACP. Apparently the board met secretly (illegal) to vote to ask for the resignation which they put into writing on official stationary. You can see that this is turning into a real mess.

Dox those faggots! Make some noise!

Seriously, if you don't make fun and ridicule these a**h***s, you'll have more of this nonsense. How the f*** does one run ROTC program without guns? Do they think that USAF will be fighting with gdamned pillow, that f***ing army is a nice fall back job to get your sex operation be paid for? This is f***ing shame and any a**h*** who pushed the icky guns out of the program should be nailed to the f***ing wall as a warning to every mentally defective meat bag.

The more people accept these nut cases and pass by without saying a word, the more it emboldens them. No amount of donations to NRA or whatever going to replace person's civic duty to drive slime into the gutter. People want to be nice and non-judgemental. Well, this is the reason why we are in shit right now.

    ^ because they can

If I'm the school board member being asked to resign, I don't - and I make it as painful and uncomfortable for them as humanly possible.

I also dox the secret meeting. This issue needs some transparency

When I ran for State Rep, I held a sign for that board member (Doris Hohensee) when she ran for senate. It's turning into a wicked shit show right now:

    Letter from the BOE

    Letter from NAACP:

    naacp 1.jpg naacp 2.jpg
I never knew Doris to be a Nazi or a racist. She shared a FaceBook post that was public (little world icon on it), that the poster EXPLICITLY stated to share. Doris didn't even share it from the original poster. She shared a share.

    rebuttal from Doris
