NEWS HOMEPAGE
A teenager has been killed in a terrifying machinegun attack outside a London nightclub.

The 19-year-old victim and two other men were caught in a hail of bullets when a gunman opened fire near the Aristocrats club in Camberwell.

The Halloween shooting followed a disturbance between rival gangs outside the club, during which fireworks were thrown into the premises.

The teenager, who has not been named, was found with gunshot wounds in the street shortly after the shooting started at around 2am.

He is believed to have been hit at least three times and died in hospital just after 10am. Two other men who were less seriously hurt made their own way to hospital.

One of them was arrested in connection with a murder at a christening in Peckham last year, but was eliminated from the inquiry.

Scotland Yard said officers had been called to the club in Camberwell Road after reports of a fight between two groups of men. Fireworks were thrown and a fire started in a bin behind the building.

Police were searching nearby streets for suspects involved in the disturbance when they heard shots.

Detectives from the Operation Trident task force, which tackles gun crime in the black community, are investigating the incident and appealed for anyone who was in the area to contact them.

A number of cartridges were found on the street after the shooting and police believe the gunman may have been armed with an Uzi-style submachinegun, a weapon favoured by Yardie gangsters.

There is growing concern at the level of gun crime involving teenagers in London and the number of shootings taking place in or around nightclubs.

Earlier this year 19-year-old Barrington Williams-Samuels was shot dead with a machinegun outside a nightclub in Hackney after he was mistaken for a member of a drugs gang.

Camberwell residents said problems with gangs and gun crime in the area were getting worse. Salwinder Sandhu, 39, manager of a local offlicence said: "I'm planning to go home back to Malaysia because the problems are getting too much. I believe people from these gangs would kill someone for just £1."

Another resident, who asked not to be named, said: "It always seems to centre around this place. I remember when somebody was shot at the club three years ago. The police need to do something to keep these people out of our area."

I thought if guns were illegal that there wouldn't be any violence or killings. Am I wrong??????

well, it's obvious that the problem is the lack of gun control in Maine.
I mean, it's a well know fact to Mass politicians that Maine is the number 1 reason for gun crimes everywhere else except in Maine, due to out lack of suitable gun laws.
