Flying out to Vegas with my wife and her best friend on Black Friday. Come back the following Tuesday. Staying at the Cosmopolitan (wife booked it....)

Never been before. Any must see/things to do?

Call me a nerd but I want to see the Hoover Dam and possibly the "Pawn Stars" pawn shop lol. Not really a gambler.

Machine gun rentals?

Thanks in advance.

Lots of places. American Shooter on Arville is nice. Expect high prices (per magazine, not per hour) and very tight supervision at any of the tourist machinegunneries.

Shop is cool since you just walk in, look around, think "Is this it?" and leave. All the recognizable folks work in the back room now since they do not want to waste time dealing with fanboys. The Hoover Dam is worth the dam trip.

As to gambling .... the sure way to cheat the casino is to not partake.

Note that your MA LTC is now good in Nevada: http://rccd.nv.gov/uploadedFiles/gsdnvgov/content/Resources/2017 Final state list (11 July 17).pdf

Thanks for the info Rob! Didn't realize my LTC is good in Nevada.

I'll have to research American Shooter. The pawn shop isn't at the top of my list but figured it might be worth seeing if we're bored.

Baker, CA. World's tallest thermometer. If you've never seen it, you've never lived.

Lmao. I'm sure my wife would love to see that...

-Skydiving outside LV in Henderson, NV. probably the best time since there really aren’t any trees clouding any rock formations.

-Red Rocks Canyon is a great place to enjoy some nature and hiking.

-Rent a Ferrari for a day at Vegas Luxury Rides and take it out to Red Rocks Canyon, find some straightaways where you can do some spirited driving and prepare for the same rush you get when shooting full auto.

I try to do two of the three when I go out there.

I considered going skydiving but I'm not sure if I'm ready to try it lol.

Totally forgot about renting an exotic car. I think I'd really enjoy that. Though I can't imagine it's cheap but hey, how often do I go to Vegas?...

That’s EXACTLY why you do this stuff over there. No potholes, sunny pretty much all the time and you can see 30 miles ahead of you on the right roads.

Another thing to see is the Hoover Dam. That was really cool. Lean over the edge slightly and clap your hands- the amplification of the clap is impressive.

The list of accepted LTCs is updated every year. MA only recently made the cut. You need to check b4 you go, since states are added and removed annually (in July).

I was looking at some of the car rental places online. Definitely have quite the inventory of cars. Some are way out of my budget but hell I'd be happy renting a Nissan GTR lol. Always loved the looks and performance of those cars.

Hoover Dam is definitely on the top of the list.

Cirque de Soleil is an absolute must.

Heard great things about this also. Thanks for the reminder.

We fly into Vegas often and rent a car and head right out again. Red Rock Canyon and the Hoover Dam are nearby . The Grand Canyon is about 2 hours away, Zion and Bryce in Utah aren't too far and the scenery and hiking are incredible and we'll worth the journey. Better than anything you'll see in the city.

hoover dam and grand canyon are both awesome...I splurged for a helicopter ride over them one year....it was totatlly worth it

The wife and I discussed doing the flyover. I think we're probably going to do that. Though being a geologist, I'd love to see it up close. Looks like it's a 4+ hour drive each way from Vegas? Hmmm
