They can't just take your guns

Also, move to Wyoming. I suspect within the next ten years private gun ownership will become severely restricted here in NH. There are just too many gun prohibitionists introducing bill after bill to not eventually succeed. A bill with a "study" provision is about to pass the state Senate and will probably pass the House. Once that happens, the gun restrictionists have will already won, and the death clock for private gun ownership in the state will be ticking down.

The GOVERNMENT can do what ever it want to.....regardless of the issue. When the Executive branch can appoint members to the Judicial branch that support the views of the Executive branch, the separation of power ceases to to exists and the PEOPLE no longer have an outlet for appeal.

A blanket statement saying "any minor arrest" will get your LTC pulled and your firearms confiscated is factually incorrect.

It depends on where one's LTC is issued from and where they were arrested. If you were arrested in the town your issuing authority is in and they are douchebags, it's almost a certainty. For example if it is a douche town like Brookline or Watertown and they find out the arrestee has an LTC, I'd put money down on it being turned into toast. Brookline has ****ed with people who were guilty of "having the police called to their residence". [thinking] or having someone else at the same residence getting arrested for anything (not even the LTC holder.)

ETA: Also if the arresting city/town "rats on you" to the issuing authority this can be a problem too, but it would take a real prick of a LEO to do this.

This is alarmist crap. NH has "seen this movie before" and it always ends pretty much the same. Anti gun bills get introduced EVERY session in NH, and that's been going on for as long as I can remember. The only reason anyone pays any mind to it now is because of the edge put on the issue by the "post sandy hook" garbage. If anything when folks survive this round of punishment pro gunners will have become stronger as a result, and down the road be better capable of blocking future legislation.

Do gun confiscations ever happen in NH? Serious question.

Yes, most common case is a DV restraining order. That's pretty much carte blanche gun theft in all 50 states for a DV RO. Granted in the more conservative states they're less likely to go fishing for guns and that kind of thing, but the PD will still put you on notice that if you have firearms in your possession that you're breaking the law.

DV ROs "travel" across state lines, too, btw. Awhile ago we had a member here who lived in NH but his ex from MA pulled out a 209A on him somehow and the local PD up in NH came and took his guns till the RO got vacated.

Good news for him likely being they didn't end up in a bonded warehouse like they would in Mass.
