This is the Svalbard Global Seed Vault on the Norwegian island of Spitsbergen near Longyearbyen in the remote Arctic Svalbard archipelago, about 810 miles from the North Pole.
It "archives" seeds that are Heirloom Seeds and Heritage Seed stocks. Maybe we need a similar "Ark" for animal species...?
