You guys going to the Maiden show -- if you can, post a quick write-up tomorrow. I can't make it to Great Woods tonight but trying to make Hartford on Saturday.
A few things of note from last night's show:

1. The band is TIGHT. Bruce's voice blows my mind for his age.
2. Bruce changes costumes ever song it seems like.
3. The set list has been the same for the whole tour. Even the encores.
4. The stage show is balls.
5. Way more pyrotechnics than I would have imagined, watch for the flame thrower. Friggen hilarious..
6. Place was at capacity.

This was my FIRST Maiden show. My group stopped at Horseshoe Pub one the way (great beer list, and the Ruben was phenomenal). Hit Red premium parking and tailgated for about 2 hours. Skipped opening act. I wish I had seen them earlier in my life, but I am completely satisfied. Drinks in venue were pricey, but security allowed one sealed water bottle through per person. I passed on venue drinks. Grabbed a couple of tee's.

I would post pictures, but I don't want to spoil the stage show for you......

I went to see Joe on the 28th up here in Westbrook, Me. This was my third Joe concert and I found this show to be my least favorite. Don't get me wrong, Joe's shows are always a great time but, I really didn't like the new venue here. The Westbrook (libtard) whine-asses have been complaining about the noise ever since it opened up in June so they are trying to appease them by starting shows earlier and reducing the volumes. The whole show felt like it was rushed (joe started at 7:30 instead of 8) and then they turned down some of the speakers at 9:00. I didn't notice that but the whole idea just turns me off. I won't go see another show there regardless of who it is.

Thats too bad. I think he would be better to see indoors anyway.

Message to Hartford Maiden Fans:

You need to get there very early.

Parking is going to be terrible and the traffic around there is really bad.

I almost missed my only chance to see Motorhead due to not being on time.

Get there early and get warmed up.

You don't want to be just arriving without seeing the opening acts.

Last time I saw Ozzy, I missed the first song and it really put a damper on my evening.

I wish I could go but I have work.

I could not afford a good seat but I'd pay $160 for the 400 section.

Good Luck!

I hope they will return but it sounds like it won't get any better than this.

I couldn't give less of a crap about Jerry Jam, but I was disappointed to learn after the fact that Robert Randolph and The Family Band performed there this year.

Update to BNL/Hootie at Meadowbrook AKA Bank of NH Pavillion Gilford NH

The acoustics were horrid, loud, distorted, not a good time. I have always enjoyed the venue but this show sucked

Why do bands skip playing their own material and play a Led Zepplin covers? Or Joe Cocker?

This is awful. Tom Keifer sounds great but:

His bass player got sick on stage, pretended to shoot himself in the head, and has totally mailed it in, and then fell on stage and had to be helped up.

The girls singing back up? I think it's his wife and daughter, and it looks like the wife is giving afair eyes to the guitarist, the keyboardist looks like he just needs the job, and the drummer is Connor McLoud of the clan McLoud.

Otherwise, the Cinderella songs have been pretty good....

Went to the Maiden show with my concert buddy, my daughter. Even though she does not listen to rock I have taken her to AC/DC twice, Black Sabbath and this was her second time to Maiden.

My first Maiden show in Biloxi for their Powerslave tour. I think this was my fourth time seeing them I think. It was funny when we were driving to the show and I was thinking about the drive to see them in high school and how things leading up to concerts for me has changed so much. Ahhhh, to be young again.

The show was Maiden as always. Great sound, great playing, what else can you say. Even at this point in their careers they were obviously still having fun on stage and spare no expense to make sure you see a show.

Box Office: Hi, how can I help you?
Me: Hi, I would like to pick up my tickets.
BO: Are these tickets you purchased?
Me: No, they’re guest tickets.
BO: From the casino?
Me: No, they’re from the band [rockon]

Aerosmith played last night at the MGM National Harbor (in MD, just across the river from DC) and my good friend, MAGG, hooked it up with some amazing seats to the show.

I could just see MAGG’s arm most of the time since he was behind the speakers. Between songs, I could see the light shining off his bald head [laugh][laugh][laugh] but I did get a really good shot of him via a video I took (last pic below). It would have been great to be able to say hi but as one would assume, he was really busy with work and couldn’t slip out. Anyway, it was really great to see my friend in action, doing his thing [rockon]

Yours truly

Opening

Our buddy, @MAGG, while Steven Tyler sprays silly string all over that dude’s face for his birthday [rofl]

I bought tickets last minute and cruised right in just as Alice in Chains started... on year 6 of sobriety, I’m not allowed near tailgates anymore unless I’m loading my dirt bike lol.

Last seen chewing the bark off a tree
I'm tempted to go see Slayer and Primus, havent been to a concert in decades. Seen Slayer during their first year of existence and Primus when they opened for Rush during the Moving Pictures tour.

I really want to see Tool though, but when they come around the good tickets are already pre-sold to the scalpers..I mean ticket brokers

Seriously, everyone should see Slayer once in their lifetime... You won't regret it.

Zac Brown Band Fenway Park, Labor Day Weekend. Fenway sucks for concerts, the acoustics are terrible, the views blow from pretty much any seat in the house, but...

Eric Church at SNHU Arena in a ~month

2nd time seeing ZBB at Fenway but the first time was a nightmare, these two hippy drunk chicks decided to park themselves - standing up - in front of our seats, not just for a song or two, like, they decided thats where they were gonna spend the 2nd set. I spilled a full cup of red wine on one of them by accident (mostly) and they moved, then they decided I'd done it on purpose so they came back to f*** with me, I got a security guy involved, they moved back again, but were then focused on heckling me and not the show.. it sucked. Great show too, Zac Brown covering "Enter Sandman" with the entire Fenway Park rocking and singing along was pretty cool. Just sucks that the 2nd set went downhill for me. Hoping for a better experience this time

This will be my 3rd time seeing Eric Church. Probably my favorite singer ATM. Country rock band rips and he always gives fans good value for their money. I think he played 30 songs the last time we saw him at one of the casinos in CT and the concert before that, he played so long at TD Garden that we missed the late commuter rail and had to take a $150 uber back home

Over on Zuckerbuch, I replied to a a question about how much you'd pay to see a concert.

I said that I wouldn't pay $200 today to see the exact same act I saw in the '80s for $12... but it seems a lot of people value nostalgia more highly than I do. And they even pay extra to get photos made with the band.

Best concert I ever saw: May 1986, Lawton Oklahoma. I had just left Cavender's after buying myself a pair of Larry Mahan smooth ostrich ropers as my birthday gift to myself. I turned on the radio pulling out of the parking lot, and heard that Jerry Jeff Walker would be performing at the rodeo arena, and tickets were for sale at Cavender's. I made a u-turn and pulled right back into the parking lot, walked into Cavender's, and bought myself a second birthday gift.

I'd been a fan of ol' Jacky Jack since college, where he was kinda the patron saint of my fraternity (we were a redneck bunch). So, I knew everything from Lost Gonzos to... whatever.

When I got to the arena, I was three rows back on a folding metal chair on the dirt floor. It was JJW on the stage, solo, acoustic guitar.

Perfect.

I would not pay $200 for a ticket, unless groupies were thrown in for free!

But its more than nostalgia....i saw Doctor John in Salisbury ~2 years ago, and now he is dead. Never saw him live before, but always wanted to. So there is that...a lot of these guys are so old they are kicking off or retiring from touring...so it really IS nice to see them one last time.
