Stupid Swiss and their fancy bullets that fly straight. They must have invented guns that don’t shoot at other people all the time. Why can’t we get something so useful? Every time I go to the range, a Central American baby is ripped from its mothers arms, look at there pompous jerks, no one even seems to be threatening female politicians? Swiss...

Do they have signage that says "Caution Low flying bullets" on the highway?

Kind of goes against safety training that I received. But, I would really like a SIG 550!

That gives a whole new meaning to drive by shooting.

range has been around for some time. IIRC the range was there berfore the highway or at least before it was a major highway??? i could be wrong though
Anyway friend of mine did some traveling and said the few ranges he was able to shoot on over seas where nothing like what most of us think of. Most of the ranges he shot at basically have 3' dia tunnels you lie in front of and its next to impossible to shoot out side the line of sight of the target. He was able to shoot at a 300m indoor range in Bruneg ? spl? there are genrally always walls and barriers to keep you from shooting out of line of the target.

It is nice to see though that something was built with safety in mind and not just fear dictating it not being built

Dupe (I didn't bother searching), but there's been one similar for a long time. It was more mountainside-to-mountainside, though. With electronic scoring, the Swiss don't need to retrieve targets.

They can also hit the damn berm.

Just like the rule at the driving range. Don’t intentionally hit your ball at the ball pickup cart. As soon as that thing comes out, it looks like a live fire on a M60 range.

There are tradeoffs to everything. That wouldn't fly here because you'd get morons that couldn't shoot right or would AIM at cars.

In Swizzle-land, you won't get that. What you'll get is a bunch of people who blindly follow the leaders wherever trusting they will always do the right thing.

I'll take free with some crazies. Although some "all for one" type countries - Norway and Sweden for example - have a much higher "happy" index. So I might just be all wet. Or maybe there's cocaine in the snow or something.

I was is Zurich over Christmas and had a hotel on the other side of the airport, about 10min shuttle ride.
There was a huge firing range about halfway between the two with targets at all distances, probably out to 400 meters being longest.
shortest looked to be pistol pits of 25metes or less.
Funny thing it point directly at the center of the runways and airport.
You could see, the overhead barriers to keep the bullets in.
if I remember it looked like the shoot positions had roofs and partially down range there were concrete bridge structures overhead.
