The crime in Japan is quite organized. The robbery rate there is 1 per 100,000 population vs 233 per 100,000 in the US. Murder rate is about 10% of the US. Assault about 1% of the US.

They are obviously doing something right, but it probably has little to do with gun control.

It is more likely the fact that the average citizen over there still has some respect for other people and their property.

The Japanese I work with see the lack of respect and work ethic in our society and look at us like aliens.

Can't say they are wrong...........[sad2]

It's absolutely a respect issue.

Even the organized crime powers that be show respect. If there is going to be crime, and there always is, there's a lot to be said for organized crime! They police their own, and run it like a business. Instead of a bunch of little scuzballs running around randomly shooting up the hood.
