at the Shriners last Saterday, and tonight i stoped by the Haverhill gun
club to see the boys, (its pistol night) and a guy shows up with a clean
Ausi 303Cal Lithgow number one MK3 S.M.L.E. and says " i think that
it is worth $100 Bucks" i agread, he knows me so I.O.U. then thanks
then run through the screaming group of" what just happend guys"
all of corse yelling kind wishes at me, in arabic i think! you know what thay
say DONT Hesatate money talks and B.S. (screams at you in arabic i think)
by the way JonJ do you know as much about the LITHGOW rifles as you do
the Jap,s?? i hope so this one is marked

Try and get some pics of the markings if you can. I've got an old cheap Sony Mavica digital camera that takes floppy discs. The pics themselves aren't great, but its good for macro (close up) shots. Heres a shot of the markings on one of my Enfields.

Its bad lighting because it was just a quickie to send some info to a message board for mislurps. Heres a close up shot of a K98 I have that shows better lighting.

And heres one of a Yugo K98 bolt I have. Someone missed the stamp when they were scrubbing the nazi markings off.

Remember, markings are all over the place on these old guns we collect.

Hehehehe... You think the Springfield had cosmolene..... wait til you slide the Yugo SKS outa the box. Yugo cosmolene is like no other. Its bitter smelling, burns the eyes badly, and has the consistency of that accidental spill in the back of the refrigerator that you never find until you do that once in a while cleaning.
I've become a connoisseur of cosmolene over the years and prefer Turkish blend usually found on Turk Mausers. 8)
