What we need is more self reliance in the US but such a huge majority rely only on cheap products/ fast and easy lifestyles. I appreciate Dollar Tree like the rest of us for cheap products but I am willing to change my habits if needed. We need to get back to the pride of American made such as during and before WWII. There is too much potential to be found here. I would rather make my own things than let this country be beholden to a foreign godless entity such as China. The US is the last free and great country. I was recently watching some YT vids of a lady named Clara who has a channel called “Depression Era Cooking”. This was an eye opener for me. She has since died but the window into her lifestyle proved to be honorable and simple. Love more and live with less. I’m not talking extremist minimalism but a simplicity in lifestyle void of the ensnarements of this age.

Our current younger generation needs a firm wake up from the stupor of electronics and zombie mind meld social media. Work with their hands. Get outside and work the ground. Go do something for society such as produce! Nope, most will settle with staring at the idiot box with Netlfix, Hulu, and Kodi. A vapid existential threat is upon us here and there needs to be some powerful smelling salts applied to the nares of the young and old alike.

It appears that Barr is finally moving in his quest to determine if the spying on Trump's campaign was legal by assigning a US attorney to investigate it. In addition, the attorney will investigate for any improper Democrat collusion with foreign contacts.

Barr assigns US attorney in Connecticut to look into government surveillance involving Trump campaign: source

Bye bye Harbor Freight, Ikea, Walmart, .....

All store price labels on Chinese product or shelves should have a Chinese flag on them to let us know, especially piss water beer! This should be a law.

Anthony Weiner, aka Carlos Danger, released from the slammah today.

Just a reminder of Carlos's penchants:

    Sydney Leathers speaks!
    :)

Carlos can now rejoin the Huma/Hillary re-election campaign.....

In my opinion Obama's second term was different (more left extreme) than the first term. He didn't care about the optics anymore. He just wanted to transform our country into a Socialist shithole. I like to think that Trump is trying to appease as many voter bases as possible to assure reelection. Once he is reelected he may very well take the gloves off and pursue justice on the people and groups who have targeted him and his family. We'll see. I think the Dems are more afraid of a second term than the first.

The Deep State saboteurs, political hacks in black robes, and GOPe quislings won't have the ability they had during the first term to hamstring Trump. If he gets reelected AND regains control of Congress, you better believe the epic MAGAing that will ensue. Think about what would have been accomplished the first two years without McCain, Ryan, Flake, Mueller, McMasters, Tillerson, Sessions, and thousands of Deep State Civil Service goons doing everything possible to undermine or sabotage Trump.

the preponderance of cheap crap from China signals a cultural change. Back in the day, we worked with our hands. It became obvious when a tool failed, or performed poorly, as you got docked pay and went hungry.

Nobody uses tools now....so they can buy a harbor freight tool, use it twice, and wonder why anyone would ever buy a high priced American made tool!

So, going back to a time where we valued quality....is going to be hard to do since the NEED for quality only remains in us who still DO things, MAKE things...only we appreciate well made American manufactured products.

Another driver of this way of thinking....who wants a cell phone that lasts 20 years? You buy one, and 3 years later you are embarrassed to pull it out and still be using that "antique".

The elite socialists have a pretty good understanding of economics.
What I'm not sure of is if the solution on counteracting should be re-evaluated.

With 3 separate probes now ongoing by Durham, Horowitz, and Huber wrt to the Russians, the Steele dossier, and the FISA warrants, the cockroaches are scattering and pointing fingers at each other. Comey is attacking Rosenstein and Brennan, Rosenstein is attacking Comey, Brennan and Clapper are attacking Comey saying that they didn't approve of including the dossier in reports, Comey is blaming them, and so on. They all feel the walls closing in on them. It's similar to the "Who's on First" comedy by Abbot and Costello. This is going to be good... [laugh]

Dispute erupts over whether Brennan, Comey pushed Steele dossier, as DOJ probe into misconduct begins

Lol, good luck with that. That ship sailed long ago, even with a 20-50% tariff we're still going to end up with lots of chinese stuff. Or at best, a vendor is going to move production to some other country that Trump admin is more friendly and less tariffy with. The unions, labor laws, tax overhead (both business and personal) have made "american cheap stuff manufacturing" a nearly untenable proposition.

    Putin to Pompeo:

We are happy to welcome you to Russia.

As you know, just recently, a couple of days ago, I had the pleasure of talking with the President of the United States by telephone. I got the impression that the President is in favour of restoring Russia-US ties and contacts and resolving issues of mutual interest.

For our part, we have said many times that we would also like to restore relations on a full scale. I hope that the necessary conditions for this are being created now since, despite the exotic character of Mr Mueller’s work, he should be given credit for conducting what is generally an objective inquiry. He reaffirmed the lack of any trace or collusion between Russia and the current administration, which we described as sheer nonsense from the very start. There was no, nor could there be any interference on our part in the US election at the government level. Nevertheless, regrettably, these allegations have served as a reason for the deterioration of our interstate ties.

I hope the situation is changing today; we have common interests, such as the preservation of strategic stability, the non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, the settlement of regional crises, the struggle against organised crime, efforts to resolve environmental issues, counter global poverty and other threats of our time, plus there are also economic issues. Although regrettably our trade has always been low and has moved towards zero in the past few years, last year we recorded some increase, I think a bit over 5 percent.

Just about every time I hear Joey talk, he has trouble putting together two coherent sentences. He's progressed in senility faster than Pelosi and I'm not making fun of them. By 2020, he'll be far worse in terms of being a babbling idiot if he even lasts that long in the Dem debates, nevermind up against Trump.

    No need to move production.

They can probably ship it to another country. In the other country they unload it and load it on a new ship.

Done. The product was manufactured in Country A. But it arrives here as a product from country B.

    This is nothing new.

Well, depends on what the "thing" is. If tariffs work off country of origin, Obviously it's NBD for the chinese to start doing stuff like "made in vietnam" or whatever on the side and then shifting stuff there etc, but remember, that third party is going to want to get their pound of flesh, too, in terms of tariffs. With the overhead in conducting that kind of fraud its probably just cheaper to set up the factory somewhere else. [laugh] Depends on what the "thing" is more than
    likely.
