I for one, would like to see how somebody who has actually been successful at something other than getting re-elected would do as President. I am so sick of career politicians who do nothing and answer to nothing. I would take him over most of the current candidates.

Not that I regularly follow him, but The Donald has always come across as a no-nonsense straight shooter. He also has one of NYC's coveted LTC's.

Trump running for president is about as reliable as the poop in the toilet being brown. [rofl]

Sure why the not. I'm sure he couldn't do worse than Obummer. Obummer being elected is like having a cashier being promoted to CEO, so Trump has him beat there [rofl]

Listened to his speech today on XM radio, very amusing, tell it like is, Trump bloviating. I would take him over Bush.

IDK, how dangerous can Trump be? It's not like he came from Chicago or anything. Her certainly doesn't give a crap about the average family but at least he doesn't pretend to like the rest of them.

We could probably do a lot worse.

Trump is reeree. The other problem is he's been doing this every time for the past 900 elections, so nobody takes him seriously, most of america pretty much thinks its a PR stunt for his brand or whatever, or that he just likes to hear himself talk, etc, etc... to this day nobody takes him seriously.

He's not a politician, which is a plus. He's a no bullshit guy who clearly isn't running for president in pursuit of wealth (unlike Obama and both Clintons). He has his own ideas and he is never afraid of making them known, which is a huge departure from the typical candidates. No, he isn't ideal, but he's a lot better than most of the others so we'll see how he handles the campaign.

He claims to be pro-2nd amendment, but supports an assault weapons ban and longer waiting periods. I can't live with those restrictions, but I can live with his opinion, because if Odumber couldn't get it passed, the Donald doesn't stand a chance. At least he might be able to get some control of our finances, which ARE going to kill us sooner rather than later. ISIS et al is a question of IF; finance is a question of WHEN.

Listen, he can't seriously be worse than the last four guys we've had. What exactly ARE the qualifications for a good president? I haven't seen one in my lifetime so I'm just wondering.

If Trump sticks to his positions on issues he would be a decent candidate.

FAR better on the issues than Goober Graham, Bush III and a raft of others

The Jesters in this case are the progressive big gov neo cons like Bush, Graham et al....and the joke is on anyone that votes for them

If Trump was serious he would run as an independent in every, or nearly ever election, and **** up every election the same way that Ross Perot did (although I bet he would get both D and R "kills"). He's not serious though, which is why he craps out part of the way through every time and disappears. It's a marketing stunt.

Assuming some big gov progressive crony capitalist like Bush, Rubio or Graham are installed as the GOP nominee I full well expect one of the solid anti establishment candidates to run third party

After crap like the TPA bullschtein I think a lot of people are done with the GOP........never thought I would see the day I found myself in agreement with ping pong eyeball pelosi on anything........

Great question. Here's my short list:

    1. Leads with integrity and honesty; makes us proud to be Americans again.
    2. Doesn't weigh in flaccidly on every current social issue for political points; concentrates on things that matter, even though his position might be detrimental to reelecton.
    3. Stands up to terrorists; doesn't bargain.
    4. Hold Congress to task; doesn't tolerate endless delays in budget submission. Vetoes pork.
    5. Demands and executes a balanced budget.
    6. Is not named Clinton.

OK, he has said a bunch of times in the past that he was looking at running/might run, but isn't this the first time he has actually declared?
