wheres the AR???????? its not a family without the AR
I like the mag disconnects, it makes it a lot safer to unload a weapon.
Just one more thing to keep the gun from going "bang" when you want it to. I've never seen an issue with unloading a gun without the mag disconnect. Just keep your fingers off the trigger, but if you don't seat the mag properly, or the release gets bumped, you have a club.
JMHO.
Yup. But at least you've got one shot. Whereas with a mag safety disconnect, you've got none.If you bump the mag release or fail to seat the magazine properly and you don't have a mag disconnect you will also have a club after the round in the chamber gets fired because the magazine is going to drop to the ground.
+1 I've never understood the logic of not liking them. What is so evil about them?
Because John Moses Browning (Peace Be Upon Him) didn't need a magazine disconnect. Ergo, they are evil.
Actully My 1908 pocket pistol has one, and most Hi-Powers do as well. so that isn't quite accurate:Because John Moses Browning (Peace Be Upon Him) didn't need a magazine disconnect. Ergo, they are evil.
And that's what I mean. better one shot than a FTF. Espeshally since you'll notice that as you draw. Not a good place to be.Yup. But at least you've got one shot. Whereas with a mag safety disconnect, you've got none.
I prefer one to none. YMMV.
Do they have Mag Disconnects?
That's a deal-breaker for me!
I think we all agree on that. However, that and $2.50 will buy you a coffee. The thing is though, I'd rather -not- have to do any of that when buying a new handgun.
I've never had to fight around the mag disconnect on my 915 to make it work properly. It is invisible to me.Mag safeties provide little
to no benefit, and end up being an annoying feature that you have to
fight around to get the gun to work properly.
You could say the same about any safety. But I am sure you have at least some firearms with other types of mechanical safeties.IMO a mag safety just creates complacency- which is something you don't want when handling firearms.
