The Gun Parlor range was approved in Worcester

Congrats. They need to be careful, that nut Claudia Russo will probably complain to the city on everything, arking, noise, etc.

Deputy Chief Fleming said Chief Gemme also does not believe such a business would be in the best interests of the neighborhood, the city of Worcester or the community at large.

Because Gemme thinks he can pick and choose what kind of business sets up in town. Tell me chief, how many problems have you had with Mr. Gabriel and his current firearms business over the last several years?

They also pointed out that police have not cited Mr. Gabriel for any violations at his current business location.

Oh, ok then. Seems legit chief...

The hours of operation will be 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. for members, while law enforcement groups will be able to use it from 8 to 11 p.m
I hope he means everyone but Worcester PD.

Excellent work, Gun Parlor! Good job on not backing down by moving to a friendlier town.

We need to now take note and remember who the antis were during this whole fiasco. They should be outvoted next time around.

Congrats, Hope to get up there at some point. I hope you have a 'special' discount for the WPD of 150% of the purchase price. An extra 50% for the mental pain they caused you...

The last sentence I agree with, they try to keep him from opening a legal business but are than going to turn around and use it? WTF.

Getting stuff through a ZBA usually requires having a lawyer that knows the ZBA members. Usually someone from the city or town who is pretty hooked in. I'd guess that is what The Gun Parlor guys did.

Congratulations.

The Prescott Street siting drew opposition from the City Council, Worcester Polytechnic Institute and Police Chief Gary J. Gemme.

Gemme is a real piece of crap. Hearing Claudia Russo get her butt denied is a bonus.

Ya, really.
I'd turn them away with a smile.

Yeah, I was just about to comment on this. Why give PD special treatment when they clearly don't want you there?

Then you have this old crank...

Two people spoke against the special permits, including Claudia Russo of 14 Metcalf St., who owns a business on Prescott Street and who initiated a petition before the City Council in opposition to the move.
Ms. Russo said her opposition is not about guns, but rather the type of business that she feels goes against the character of a family neighborhood.

Okay, first of all it's not a family neighborhood but a "manufacturing-general" neighborhood. Second...

Mr. O'Neil said Mr. Gabriel has purchased the building at 170 Prescott St. - the former Greg's Packing Co. warehouse - and intends to invest about $1.5 million in creating a state-of-the-art, cutting-edge gun store and indoor shooting range.

Yeah, nobody wants some jerk moving in and fixing the place up.

You forget, that in her twisted mind it was going to be bought any day now by a nice gay couple that was going to open an art gallery and a sidewalk cafe there.. but instead it's a evil baby killing gun shop.....
