Massachusetts Women Call on Lt. Governor Polito to Assist Their Disenfranchised Community of Second Amendment Citizens​

BOSTON – Today the DC Project and the Massachusetts Women Gun Owners (MWGO) sent a letter to Lt. Governor Karyn Polito. The letter, sent jointly by the two groups, seeks to bring to the Lt. Governor’s attention the plight of the Second Amendment community currently in Massachusetts. In it, it states:

“Women represent the fastest growing segment of new firearms owners in the United States. A significant portion of those women are women of color or represent other increasingly – disenfranchised demographic groups of women.”

“While we completely respect the health crisis we are in and the noble efforts of our law enforcement and first responders,” said Lakasha Robbins, Co-founder of MWGO, “the ultimate responsibility for keeping ourselves safe rests directly on our own shoulders. The current roadblocks established by the Massachusetts State Administration have made that impossible for many in our community.”

Our organizations hope that Lt. Governor Polito will join with the women of our community and help us take down the established Second Amendment roadblocks in a responsible and timely manner.

The DC Project is an educational, nonpartisan initiative that brings women, at least one from each state, to Washington, DC, to establish relationships with their legislators and reveal the faces and stories of firearms owners and 2nd Amendment supporters.

Massachusetts Women Gun Owners’ mission is to help Massachusetts women gain confidence with firearms, to promote safety, and to grow the female voice in the firearms community. We provide a welcoming place for women to get advice, education, recommendations, and to network.

I'm glad that women are making their voices heard, but the "responsible and timely manner" is pretty vague. You need to not be able shoot guns until next year ... it's for your own good, you women of color.

Politicians seem to respond to threats the best. If there is a threat to that elitist POS, it needs to be made, otherwise the letter is worded like coming from sheep.

Think they sent it to Polito because they expect her to run for Governor when CB moves on, and this is a group she will probably need to get elected.
