I was afraid of that too, but to be honest it's never bitten me yet.

Shotguns have their advantages and disadvantages. Unfortunately a lot of people ignore one or the other - some seem to think that a shotty is the end-all be-all when it comes to home defense, while others seemingly look at it as practically useless.

I think most of the doubters have never killed anything but paper with one.
If they have ever even fired one.
It may not have the "Tacticool " fap factor but in can tell you for a fact that for a hundred yards or under (Now and then a little over) it's a very effective weapon .
Dress out a deer that took a load of OO buck at 30-40 yards and see what's left of the internal organs .
There is an "Oh shit" factor.
That's just old school.
I had a guy this year show me his new gun with a rifled barrel , scoped and shooting Remington sabot slugs that was hitting in the black at 200 yards.
