Texas SWAT team responds to incident at synagogue as service Facebook livestream is disabled

Upon moving to NH, I did an internet search for local Nashua area synagogues. There are less than a handful (3 IIRC) within 10 miles or so and they hide info on membership fees (fill out form and we'll contact you about membership and fees). Doing some serious Googling, I found that one of them charges $3K/year to be a member . . . no thank you!!
You can't put a price on going to Heaven.

What’s the old saying? “Not all Muslims are terrorists, but all the terrorists so far have been Muslims.” Something like that.

Historian on King David Hotel Bombing: 'It Was an Act of Terror'

"Seventy years after the pre-State of Israel Irgun underground militia blew up the King David Hotel in Jerusalem, killing more than 90 people, historian Prof. Mordechai Golani called the attack "an act of terror that stained our history, leaving it scarred.”"

"which the Irgun was fighting as part of the Jewish Resistance Movement."

American Jews (most of them) are anti-2A and would not approve of any armed people at a service on a regular basis. Yes, I know a few exceptions (I am one of them) but they don't do it with permission from anyone nor do other members of the congregation (or leaders/officers of the synagogue) know who may be carrying.

don't young jewish kids have to go on some kind of sabbatical to Israel? Don't they take any of those lessons back here with them?

The "Birthright Program" is a charity and not a mandatory thing. Many synagogues don't affiliate with Birthright because it is pro-Zionism and Kapo congregations are eager to cuddle up to cretins jacking off to Jihadi porn out of some bizarre self gassing mentality.

Is that per person or per family?
Per family. If you participate in anything or "buy seats" for the high holiday services (3 days, typically $300-500 for 2 seats), that's extra.

No, that's a relatively new option and they get to work on a farm (kibbutz). They don't get to handle guns.

Don't sugarcoat it, tell us how you really feel.
The current crop of Communists which have taken over most 'reform' congregations would have waxed about 'Hitler being misunderstood' and chastised the Poles for fighting back in the Warsaw Ghetto uprising if transported back to the 1930s/40s.

These are the twat congregations that used to send the PLO money used to murder Israelis. They are batshit insane.

The only Bat Mitzvah I went to they made a big deal about the kids who were going to go. It seemed weird that these 13 year old girls were getting the trip. This was at a Temple in Newton.

They literally have no evidence to their claims of her trying to kill Americans

They nearly killed her on multiple occasions, there are afghan and pakistani prisoners who were in the same prison as her who have given eye witness statements on how the Americans abused and tortured her. Why would you believe these same people who lie to your face about 9/11 (which I know many of you have a varied mass of 'conspiracy theories' distrusting the gov/media but will beleive what they say about this wholeheartedly?) They lie trying to push an agenda against 2a, the constitution, are pro BLM, etc but you take this at face value?

One of my Nieces went over to Israel on that type of trip. I'm jealous, the two trips we made to Israel we had to pay our own way. Israel sponsors those trips for kids <18 yo with the hopes that some will move to Israel permanently.

There is an adult version "Birthright Israel" that sponsors trips for those age 18-32. Logistically much different since the organizers don't have custody issues to deal with having underage travelers.

Years ago my brother in law had to go to Israel for business, he is Scottish but very dark complexion. Security at airport had him give his presentation before they granted entry and then dropped his laptop destroying his presentation so he had to have a new laptop with all his files overnighted so he could give his speech. They don't mess around with security.

Yes, the Israelis run a very tight ship on security and since almost everyone has to serve in the army, they all get trained about what to look for wrt terrorism. Our first trip was with the Jewish national law enforcement org, as guests of the IDF and Israeli police. I didn't know it until afterwards, but we were on the news there. What I did know is that there were armed agents on each floor that we were on at the hotels during our stay. We had armed Israeli police with us everywhere we went for the entire 15 days in the country. We were briefed on a lot of the security measures in place. We went to a shopping mall (they have armed security screening people at the entrance . . . x-ray machine and I think there was a walk-thru magnetometer) and the guard asked me if I was carrying (<LOL> I was wearing our Jewish LE org hat) . . . my response was no, but I carry back at home (in the US), no issues.

Our second trip was for a wedding in Jerusalem and to play tourist on our own. I saw a few things that I wasn't pleased about, but not knowing if there was "history" with the individual, I can't judge appropriateness. On the other hand, after handing over our luggage at the airport in Eilat, I had forgotten my Swiss army knife in my pocket. I asked the person at the ticket counter and she just smiled and said "no problem" . . . they thoroughly screen people, and don't worry so much about "objects".

Speak for yourself! This American Jew and his homies are strapped! At some point, the American in us said "No MORE!". We refuse to be victims!

Let's do some facts
  • Program called Birthright and paid for by donations by Americans. Not a penny came from the US or Israel's taxpayers.
  • The program is not mandatory and is not promoted by Temples. The knowledge is passed from those who went on the Birthright trip before and shared it with their younger siblings and friends.
  • The program has no religious undertone. It also has ZERO about Palestinians and what they do to Israeli Arabs and Jews.
  • The program is dedicated to showing the true Israel, not the one portrayed by the media, anti-semites, or delusional idiots.

And before you start bitching about Israel, give me an example of ANY Muslim country that has written into their constitution the right of return of any Muslim? How about a Christian country? Or perhaps you can give me an example of an Arab or European country that did not push out, murder, or persecute its own Jewish citizen?
Or perhaps you can point me to an Arab country that has a Jew in its equivalent of the Supreme Court? Or a Jewish party? Or the director of the largest national bank? Israel can!

Abdel Zubai, Mansour Abbas, Abd el-Aziz el-Zoubi, Amos Yarkoni, or my favorite Israeli(and Arab):

I'm not speaking for myself or you. Both of us take our security seriously. I did say "most" and I still mean it.

I know a number of American Jews that feel as we do.

However, growing up, my Family were close personal friends with some Rabbis, vacationed together, etc. My Wife and I are good friends with the leadership of the congregation we attended for >40 years in MA, as well as a lot of Jews in our former MA town and you wouldn't get any support for armed members from any of them.

The thing that upsets me the most is those that are willfully disarming their co-religionists. It isn't enough that they chose to be lambs to the slaughter, they want force that choice on everyone else. It's like their house was robbed because they refused to lock their doors, insist on not locking their doors and don't want anyone else to be able to lock their doors.

I can't fathom how the same people go on about the Holocaust, and "never again"" while blocking, any steps to practically stop that. They seem to think kindness to and accommodation of Evil which openly declares it will exterminate them, will make it not want to be Evil.

Texas synagogue siege: Teens held in UK

Two teenagers have been arrested in England as part of the investigation into a hostage-taking incident at a synagogue in Texas on Saturday.

British citizen Malik Faisal Akram, 44, from Blackburn, was shot dead after a standoff with police in Colleyville.
Details of the ages or genders of the pair arrested in south Manchester on Sunday evening were not revealed.

According to US police sources, Akram arrived in the country via New York's JFK International Airport two weeks ago.

Akram's brother Gulbar confirmed his death in a statement carried on the Blackburn Muslim Community Facebook page. He apologized to the victims and said his brother had been suffering from mental health issues.

Akram gained initial access to the synagogue during the service by claiming to be a homeless man.

These idiots do not speak for me or my homeys. This jew and his homeys are strapped, son! We carry Hebrew Hammers in 9mm and 45 ACP! Heck, even my Rabbi is joining us to practice at the range! Heck, my first experience shooting Smith&Wesson 500 was thanks to a guy I met at my temple.

I am an American and a Jew! Americans don't run. Jews persevere in adversity. I think I have the best mix of both!

Scary to see how many people quickly resort to "we need to do what Israel does".
If we did, 9/11 would not have happened. Israel is one of the freest and democratic countries on this planet! They send their bad politicians to prison, unlike this country. Every(unless they have religious exception) young man and woman serve in the defense of their country. Every man and woman learn how to handle a weapon. 96% of Israeli's don't post stupid stuff like "gun confiscation from law-abiding citizens is key to the elimination of violence". Every middle eastern country would do well to copy Israel's way! Heck, every country could learn a thing or two.

Perhaps our definition of 'free' and 'good countries' are different. Operating the largest open air prison of the Gaza strip and West bank, no freedom of movement, and constant assaults by Jewish settlers illegally (UN publicly says what they are doing is illegal and violating their own agreements) against Palestinian people being forcably removed from their own homes doesn't really go well with those terms.
What a crock of shit! Every single word above is an utter lie easily checked.

Remind us again, who controls Gaza? Hamas. Same Hamas that places rockets inside Hospitals. Same Hamas that takes BILLIONS in aid and uses it to build tunnels into Israel so they can go and kill Israeli women and children.

West Bank is somehow Palestinian!? Says who!? Did ANYONE complain about Jordan occupying West Bank? I didn't think so! West Bank IS Israel and if you wish to push forward Palestinian independence, perhaps you should start with Palestinian refugees in Jordan and Lebanon.

Before you go spreading lies, answer the question: how come, descendants of refugees of the 1947 war, started by Arab states, are not allowed to become citizens of Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, Iraq? Why is it that you only complain about Israel?

Perhaps before you make dumb statements about attacks of Jewish settlers, you should visit the West Bank and see what really is going on there. I did.

And here's one coming from an actual Palestinian:

Put in your sob story interviews that are about Algeria. Just an FYI it's a country 600+ miles away and of questionable accuracy. Having some bad deeds committed by members of Palestinian militant organisations does not equate to the level of opression and atrocities commited against the general population.

Ahhh yes, like rocketing Orthodox Christian monasteries and preschools because they are 'Hamas bases' this past spring. Just going to point out that IDF has a much higher civillian death toll than who they call terrorists. I'm not saying the West Bank is Palestinian, the entire landmass known as "israel" is an illegal settlement and is presently being expanded in violation of international law. We really need to stop and think of the 'why' before the 'what' here. Why is Hamas doing this? (not claiming violence is justified) Why are palestinians angry at 'Israel'? Does the overwhelming majority of the population in every surrounding country simply dislike Israel because their flag is white and blue?
Showing pictures? OK. here's one:
1642403421633.png
So before you post something like that, ask yourself: how many people in Gaza are killed by the rockets Palestinians have launched. Yes, 680 in 11 days in May ALONE! So before you go blaming Izrael, think about who is really killing people in Gaza.

Algiers is too far and that's your argument? How about Egypt? Jordan perhaps? Syria? Where are the Jews from those countries!?

West bank was offered to Palestinians FIVE times. In exchange, Israel got suicide bombers, knifings and rockets. FIVE times Israel offered piece to the Palestinians. Five times, Palestinians rejected. At this point, it's part of Israel! International law, you say. OK. Give me an example of SINGLE country that gave the land back after a war. West Bank was part of Jordan, not "Palestine". Golan Heights were part of Syria too. Israel defended when attacked.

You pontificate about "why" and "what"'. Watch the damn videos I posted! they CLEARLY explain why Palestinians are in the crap they're in and it's NOT Israel! Palestinians angry because other Arab countries don't give them agency. When a child is born in Jordan in of the "refugee" camps that's been around for 70 years and asks "I was born here so why can't I be Jordanian!?". Why is the answer "Well, blame Israel. Jordan is not your home. You should go and kill every Jew you find until the sea is red with their blood". Countries all over the world have accepted refugees into their society. Point me to ANY middle eastern country that has accepted refugees and absorbed them into their society?!

You keep saying international law. Which one? What law? The one that said Israel has the right to exist? The one that has been violated over and over and over yet I don't see you calling Jodan, Egypt or Syria apartheid state.

Oh, and by the way. The Orthodox Christian monasteries in Gaza you brought up is a lie! the attack was peretrated by Hamas: Christian monastery attacked in Gaza

No offense but everything you're spewing is a lie. You're either a lier or you have been bamboozled into believing this crap.

I agree! $3k is a lot of dough! I contribute what I can to support my parish church but need to look out for #1 first. Those pesky bills need to be paid on time each month!

They don’t have to but have the choice. My Army buddy went, and one of his three kids went. He said he went “To meet girls.”

The 3D Printer company we worked with merged with an Israeli company so met a lot of Israeli managers. They are all military vets. Got along fine with them, as they speak directly without trying to cover everything with syrup. We didn’t talk politics but did talk about hardware. One of them was a Hughes 500 pilot, bet he had a lot more stories to tell.

That’s a cool 5-star hotel. When I go over, I stay across the street at the YMCA Three Arches - much cheaper - but I go to the King David for lunch sometimes. The facade facing the Old City still has pockmarks from the shooting back then… Part of not forgetting their past, given it’s still a threat today.
