terrorists pass freely into United States?

What about legal aliens ?

Legal aliens are what this country is built on. Do it the right way, and come to AMERICA, don't try to turn it into your old country. If you want that, STAY HOME!

And this surprises you... why?

+1000.

Anyone who thinks that we're impenetrable is fooling themselves.

This doesn't mean we shouldnt try. I mean I'm all in favor of machine
gun nests at the southern border to keep illegals out....

We have to relent though, that if some illegal immigrants can get
in then it would be trivial for someone with more resources to do it
on a more consistent basis. Hell, as it stands now, there are illegals that
pass freely back and forth on a bi-annual basis. (for "migrant" or "seasonal"
type jobs, etc). If these people can do that kind of thing and
get away with it, whats going to stop a funded terrorist?

Additionally, there are quasi-legitimate ways for terrorists to
get in... remember, we can only "stop" them if we "know" that
they're terrorists. So we can stop Bin Laden from entering the US... big
deal.... the ones you -know- about typically are not going to be the
triggermen.

Then we have other terrorists that are US citizens. Some of them may be
islam fundamentalists, but they also exist in public office. People like
Tom Reilly, Barrios, Menino, Kennedy, etc, are just as much of a threat to our
nation as any of these bomb-belt nutcases are. Sure, they might not use
violence to achieve their goals, but in the long term such people are just as
dangerous to our way of life as americans. The media just trivializes the
damage caused because it doesnt -directly- result in someone getting killed or
a bridge collapsing.

We (at least LE) already know that they are here and entering that way.
