Terror attack in Copenhagen:

Copenhagen shooting during debate on Islam:
One dead in shooting at a Copenhagen cultural centre, where a meeting about freedom of speech was being held - organised by a Swedish artist who had caricatured the Prophet Muhammad.

• 40-yr-old Danish man killed in shooting at cultural centre
• Three policemen reported injured
• French ambassador to Denmark inside but unharmed
• Meeting about freedom of speech was being held at the time
• Gathering organised by controversial Swedish artist Lars Vilks
• Lars Vilks caricatured Prophet Muhammad in 2007



Vilks stirred controversy in 2007 with published drawings depicting Mohammad as a dog which sparked threats from Islamist militant groups.
He has received numerous death threats and has lived under constant protection by the Swedish police since 2010. Two years ago, an American woman who called herself Jihad Jane was sentenced to 10 years in prison for plotting to kill him.

Ritzau said both Vilks and the French ambassador, who was also attending, were both unharmed, but that three police had been wounded. The gathering was billed as a debate on art and blasphemy.

"I heard someone firing with an automatic weapons and someone shouting. Police returned the fire and I hid behind the bar. I felt surreal, like in a movie," Niels Ivar Larsen, one of the speakers at the event, told the TV2 channel.

Wait what? Why didn't their strict gun control laws stop this? What an outrage! More laws should be passed, this time they will work.
 
Not to worry, we declared open season them because of a movie according to Suzanne Barakat.

Suzanne Barakat, the sister of Deah Barakat, one of the victims of the Chapel Hill shooting said that there was “open season” against Muslims and placed part of the blame on the movie “American Sniper”
 
We have friends in Denmark and they say its crazy the way the mooslims are running around demanding everything under the sun. While I certainly don't condone it ... I can see where one of the Danish guys might finally go off the hook after the stories I have heard. Many Danes are watching their entire culture being picked apart by political correctness and the mooslim invasion - and they are pissed. The other option is that the shooter is actually a mooslim and happens to speak the language. After all, the whole thing was arranged by an artist that dared to make a drawing of the "prophet"

He and the media are trying very hard to avoid talking about this, our abandonment of embassies and the ISIS attack on Anbar not to mention US troops coming under fire at a base nearby

Some of these countries (see sweden) have allowed immigration from the ME for many years and are now faced with the second and sometimes third generation of children from these immigrants who have no intention of assimilating

It's a major problem across Europe that these immigrants see themselves as Muslims with a sense of that identity itself being a "nationality" in and of itself and not as citizens of their host country. The people which think and feel that way gravitate towards, and in some cases exploited by, terror groups promising a Caliphate because of that false sense of nationality.

A shooting near a synagogue in Copenhagen has left one person dead and two injured, hours after a deadly attack at a cafe in the city.
In the second shooting one person died after being shot in the head, and two police officers were wounded. The attacker is believed to have fled.
Earlier, a gunman killed one person and injured three at a free speech debate attended by a Swedish cartoonist.
It is not clear if the two shootings are connected.
The second shooting took place on Krystalgade street, about 5km (three miles) from the scene of the first attack.
Danish police were were quoted by the AFP news agency as saying the perpetrator had fled on foot. The man who died was a civilian, while two police officers suffered injuries to their arms and legs, police said.
The BBC's Malcolm Brabant reports from Copenhagen that the Danish capital has been abuzz with sirens and helicopters, amid fears that other attacks could be imminent.
The police have warned residents that it is not safe to be in the city centre.

For me it just demonstrates that these terrorists whether home grown or imported just can't put together a decent attack. The best they can do is orchestrate a small arms assault on a church or coffee house or maybe brutally killing a journalist while wearing a mask. They've got nothing and with all their effort have done nothing since 911.

No shit. Take a look at the coalition of parties the Danish PM leads: the Social Democrats, the Danish Social Liberal Party, the Socialist People's Party, and the Red-Green Alliance (the most left wing party in the Danish Parliament). What could possibly go wrong?

I met people from Denmark, and they LOVE their socialism. Apparently, the gov over there is very good to its citizens when it comes to free stuff such as health care.

Police in Copenhagen say they have shot dead a man they believe was behind two deadly attacks in the Danish capital hours earlier.
Police say they killed the man in the Norrebro district after he opened fire on them.
It came after one person was killed and three police officers injured at a free speech debate in a cafe on Saturday.
In the second attack, a Jewish man was killed and two police officers wounded near the city's main synagogue.
Police say video surveillance suggested the same man carried out both attacks. They do not believe any other people were involved.

Police were working to determine whether the man had travelled to Syria or Iraq, he said.
Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt said it was "a very sad morning" and described the shootings as "a cynical act of terror against Denmark".
