No gun was involved in this. He was able to kill 9 innocents.
So it does not take a gun with a high capacity mag etc. to commit this type of horrendus crime.
To State the obvious to this forum: All the gun laws in the world would not prevent this type of crime.
The Question that probably can never be answered: Would mass murderers who used guns to commit their crimes used something else to commit the crime, or not commited them at all?
