As long as you remind the store that there's no tax. I believe BJ's is known for not knowing this tax loophole.

Yep. Just go to the Customer Service counter. You will get a gift card in the mail for the amount of tax.

I don't object to the Federal tax, it's 10-11% and is distributed to states by the Conservation Fund of the US Fish and Wildlife Service.

You can avoid state tax by not buying new. Don't let a dealer try to talk you into paying MA sales tax if you use him only for the FFL transfer!
