This is what I found in the house to date, I know there are others floating around..... All have been carried and20201208_093506.jpg used for work, tinkering, the kids and wife using for girl and boy scouts, camping, etc...good memories and NFS ever.

FYI...I never smoked, but friends and coworkers we more than happy to give me their miles back in the 90's, when Marlboros were an affordable luxury. Thankfully I was smart enough to redeem for the good stuff.

The one I keep going back to is the Soldier I bought new in 97. It’s been used for every paint job I’ve done since. It was/is always the go to when I have to cut something nasty or brutal because I never worried about snapping the blade. It’s held up to everything it has been asked of. I keep it in the kitchen now to grab for recyclables and everything in between. Current Vic model is the Pioneer.

Absolutely, BUT they don’t understand that we all LOVE the Red option too! But for My gift request I substituted the thumb hole with the Silver over the Red that I really prefer.

I had exactly that same choice to make, and went the other way.

Love the red.

Just ordered my Silver Alox Hunter Pro through SwissKnifeShop using their 2-day 10% OFF Code: GOODBYE2020

Saved $10 and got free shipping.
This blade will look great with it's twin in Red!

Amazon had it for $7 bucks less (after tax), but SwissKnifeShop is out of Amherst, New Hampshire and employs good NH folks. Nuff said...

@enbloc Your going to LOVE that knife! It’s so nice it’s one of my favorites and might possibly replace my Cold Steel - Not 100% sure but I plan on using it extensively. My only gripe is it’s not in the Red 😪

True. I would like a Red Alox Hunter Pro with a thumbhole... and a Silver Alox in a Drop Point. [smile]

My only issue with the Alox is that stupid engraving area ... just cheapens the look of a nice design.....Maybe if they put a shield engraving area like Swiss army logo..... Any engraving I would have done would be on the blade....But still a great knife.
Yeah, not a big fan. They should offer a "Gift Edition" that you can order and add something to.

I was actually toying with adding the 'year of purchase date' for a little something to remember "2020" in perpetuity...

Just got these clips in. From a slow boat from China. Literally. I ordered them on eBay in November. Going to give them a try. There’s some better ones out there. View attachment 438269

I was checking those out too. Let us know if you like and recommend them... thanks.
I highly recommend these. The knife virtually disappears. A must for any three or higher tier knife.

I have two of these. one I have carried daily since ~1972. picked up another one a few years back at a show nearly unused, the model was either outdoorsman or ranger, have seen it called both. I think it was discontinued in the late 70's. the distinctive parts were the large serrated blade and the curverdsmall blade. my old one had the shield (above left) the newer one has the better known crest as shown above right.

I got them from this eBay seller. It took forever but they seem decent enough to wait.
Found them on Amazon. Pricier for two days.

I've been trying to avoid Amazon...
They have them on eBay... about the same price. Slow boat from China though...

I like the looks of them in black.
