Suggestions on AR and Shotgun to Purchase

I'm looking to pick up an AR and shotgun. Been looking at a few and I have some ideas of what I want. Wanted to poll NES members to see what you recommend (AND WHY) before I pull the trigger on a purchase. I've picked up some very good ideas from folks on this forum in the past and looking to hit a home run with your feedback.

Exactly.


Although, for general use, a 16" or 18" AR (from a good company) and a 20" 870 will do you pretty well.

Yeah, for general use I actually think an 18" is the way to go, partially because you can have a rifle length gas system.
