I'm new to the AR world and I am looking for a book that has good beginner information for familiarization to stocks, uppers, lowers, etc. Any suggestions? Anyone know any books that contain a decent primer in how to do your own build? I am interested in something that has a lot of pictures.

Thanks

The AR-15 (Gun Digest) the first one or Volume 2 both by Patrick Sweeney. The AR-15 Complete Owner's Guide or The AR-15 Complete Assembly Guide both by Walt Kuleck.

I'd reccomend three from Fulton Armory. See: http://www.fulton-armory.com/

The AR-15 Complete Assembly Guide
—How to build your own AR-15
—by Walt Kuleck with Clint McKee.

The AR-15 Owner's Guide (2008, Third Edition) by Walt Kuleck and Scott A. Duff. - History, development, selecting the rifle, disassembly, assembly, inspection, cleaning, zeroing, and much, much more.

THE COMPETITIVE AR15
The Complete AR15 High Performance Guide!
by Glen Zedeker

The 1st two are a MUST read.

Hope that helps,
