No surprise to anyone on NES...

A Crime Prevention Research Center (CPRC) study shows that concealed carry permit holders are among the most law-abiding of law-abiding citizens in the country.
For example, for 2016 the study shows that just .0092% of Louisiana permit holders were charged with a felony in 2016. And in 2015 there “were 25,208 violent crimes in Louisiana, with 19 felony charges or convictions against permit holders.” Assuming the felonies were violent and the charges against permit holders stand, this still means permit holders only represent .08% of those who committed violent crimes.

According to CPRC, the percentage of Michigan concealed permit holders convicted of aggravated assault in 2015-2016 was .003%. The percentage of Michigan permit holders convicted of aggravated assaults in 2014-2015 was .002%

Shifting to Minnesota, the percentage of concealed permit holders convicted of assault in 2016 was .000%, the percentage convicted in 2015 was .000%, and the percentage in 2014 was .000%.

Funny how these stories never seem to make it to the front page of the NY Slimes or onto CNN or NBC Nightly News?

We're even more law-abiding than the police, as noted in the above study and a similar study by CPRC (John Lott), a year earlier.

IMO, the people writing the laws and the people upholding the laws have a higher crime rate than permit holders.

The report, written by Crime Prevention Research Center president John Lott, notes that it is "very rare for permit holders to violate the law" and compares the crimes committed by permit holders to police officers and the general population. The police committed 103 crimes per 100,000 officers, while the general population committed 3,813 per 100,000 people, 37 times as much as the police crime rate.

"Combining the data for Florida and Texas data, we find that permit holders are convicted of misdemeanors and felonies at less than a sixth the rate for police officers," Lott writes. "Among police, firearms violations occur at a rate of 16.5 per 100,000 officers. Among permit holders in Florida and Texas, the rate is only 2.4 per 100,000.10 That is just 1/7th of the rate for police officers. But there's no need to focus on Texas and Florida — the data are similar in other states."

I would love to know which firearms violations to these police commit. Non-licensure? Negligent discharge? Brandishing?

I'd like to see a study regarding constitutional carry people. Who needs a permit?

Careful what you ask for. If there is (or appears to be) a statistically significant difference between licensing states and constitutional states, the choruses of "See! Moar Lawrs work!" from the other side will be deafening.
Assuming the stats favor their position, or can be made to favor their position. If people that choose to carry in constitutional states are even less likely to commit crime then the silence will be deafening!

I hear you but that is no excuse for infringement on our rights.

We'll never know because the police do such a good job of protecting their own. The actual number of firearms violations they commit may be several times higher.
