My very first post here is this:

I've been pulled over by the police twice this year after about 18 year of virtually NO such incidents. In both stops, the reason for stopping was hokie at best. One was in Manchester NH where I was waling into a doctor's appointment. When I left the building, the two Manch cops (dressed in tachtical black) converged on me and wanted only one thing: To know if I was carrying a firearm. "I asked why would they need or want to know that?" They answered, "well...it would be ilegal." I replied "Illegal!?! How in hell is that illegal??" They said..."well it IS...unless you have a permit." I responded "well I DO have a permit and I'm NOT carrying a gun." They were fine with the answer and left.

The second incident was a vehicle stop where two plain-clothes Derry Detectives stopped me and asked about guns. Here, I refused to answer anything about guns. Instead, I asked "why are you fixated on GUNS? GUNS are NOT illegal...what's the deal?" They responded with "well...its a safety thing...for our own safety?" They backed-down and left.

So the Derry dicks stopped me to see if they were "safe."

Does anyone know what's going on around NH?? I'm actually affraid to carry for fear they have an agenda. An NO, there's nothing I'm not telling you.

I'm wondering if they are typing-in plate numbers and people with CCPs are flagged?

This is indeed a strange one. I suppose your hypothesis is possible if the fact that CCP information is included when they run a plate. I don't know how NH works in that regard. If you are legally licensed to carry concealed, I don't know why they would stop you to begin with.

This is very odd IMO.

Welcome to the forum,

Do you have any pro gun stickers on the back of your vehicle?

Ive been debating on putting my NRA sticker on the back of my car.

What does the back of your car look like?
And what do you look like and what kind of neighborhood was this?

I doubt they would have stopped you because you have a CCW permit. After all, if you have a permit and a gun, why stop you?

I'd bet that you were profiled for some reason.

I've actually been pulled over less since I got my LTC, but I'm sure that's just coincidence. I think that there's another reason for your troubles.

That or you know that having too many tickets can give the LEO a reason to call "unsuitability" on you and pull your permit. So, unconsciously you're driving better to not get pulled over.

With all the Ma**h***s who have fled MA, there has to be some eventual impact on attitudes toward firearms (especially southern NH).

I always try to drive unconsciously. IMHO, with the horrible Boston drivers – driving unconsciously is the only way to drive without shitting your pants.[grin]

Think Zombie Driving Mode [wink]...of course it's not the autobahn, but be sure to watch out for Blitz1 on Storrow Drive.

(there.. Zombies, Godwyn's Law, and Blitz1 in one post [laugh])

Probably coincidence. Strange, but probably nothing more than that, unless they were looking for someone that fits your description, and/or drives a vehicle similar to yours. If these two incidents happened very close together, within a couple days, that may be the answer. If not, I'd say just bad luck.

Some years ago my girlfriend got pulled over because "her plate had been ran so much". She left my house all the time at 1-2am. So that's apparently a crime. Are you out late at night a lot?

While I tend not to believe in coincidence, your explanation is probably the best one IMO.

+1. Reason why I keep all identifying bumper stickers off my cars. NRA, GOAL, etc. I support them but they can easily help people target you.

Yup I bought a new truck recently and was about to transfer my goal and NES stickers and the wife goes "isnt that basically telling everybody you drive by you have guns?" I said "good point" now there on the safe.

I have an oval NES sticker on the back of my jeep...about the only people that would tip off are people from here...your basic LEO wouldn't have a clue.

NH has a plethora of over-policed little towns, been that way long before the Ma**h*** mass migration. I drive a nice truck without stickers and look like a respectable chap, but still feel like I'm getting the hairy eyeball from PD in little NH towns.

And I would've left it at that...it's called concealed for a reason. If I have a permit, it makes no effing difference if I'm carrying or not.

(edit: unless I'm in a courthouse or some such place)

Seeing you were not driving yet in the Manchester, NH incident, I fail to see if you having "gun" stickers on your car would be the issue of why they harassed you. Unless, they were following you and you had stickers on your car. Of course, if that was the case, why are you being trailed? I get this suspicion that there are details not being disclosed.

only stickers I have are Ski-Doo and Polaris and that's cause I was 17..

Theres the very high chance a burglar will be like hmm **** this i'm all set. but then again he could be like oh **** yea theres prob some guns & ammo in this bitch

I'm betting OP is NOT Hispanic or Muslim. Just going on a hunch here [wink]

Dressed in tactical black tu-tus, it sounds like they were after something.

Of course, what would've happened if OP was actually carrying? Maybe reading a different story?

I agree, stickers on your car wouldn't/shouldn't warrant a stop like that, but as far as disclosure of details, my gut tells me only LE knows that.

the way you walk can also tip off an LEO you might be carrying...if you were walking a certain way, they may have suspected that you were carrying...

I have the Oval NES and GOAL stickers in my truck.

I can't tell you how many people either ask me about Nintendo and/or Soccer. I don't think that anyone other than Gun people understand either of those stickers...and even Gun People, unless they know about NES will know it's a gun sticker.
