I have looked all over and I cant figure out this one mark on my m1 carbine. On the left side when you remove the stock you find a SG in big letters. Does anyone know what this stands for, the gun is a Inland.

I will post pics later.

Thanks, I couldnt figure it out because even under the rear sight it says Inland.

That's because the major manufacturers sub-contracted production of various parts, and/or because over the years these guns have been rebuilt, repaired, replaced with parts salvaged from other carbines.

B- IBM
W - Winchester
N - National Post Meter
RMC - Rockola
I - Inland (WI - Winchester for Inland, AOB - Auto Ord for IBM, etc)
AO - Auto Ordanance (sub contractor)
Q - Quality Hardware
SG - Saginaw
S'G' - Saginaw Grand rapids
IP - Irwin Pederson
U - Underwood

Some other markings you might encounter...
