my wife and I stopped at Walmart after Mass on Sunday. The greeter stopped me at the door. I was wearing my NRA jacket that I had worn to church with no issues. The greeter asked me if I had any guns on me. I said no. He said I would have to take the jacket off in the store. I refused and the manager and security was called. Needless to say we won’t be shopping at Wally World anymore.

Take it to corporate. My guess this is not a standard policy.

Forgive my ignorance.. I don't get out much... but doesn't Walmart sell guns?
They don't in RI, just ammo, hunting/fishing licenses, ammo, and fishing basics. I honestly don't know when I've been in a Mass WM. In NH, they sell pretty basic guns like Mossberg 500s/590s. Maybe ARs? I think?

I need to start wearing my NRA pullover more, though I rarely go to Walmart.

The one in Orange, MA is closest to Athol.

My interpretation of this is that the greeter would not let you in until he could search you for weapons just because of a jacket you were wearing (discrimination), the store management and security backed him up. Definitely let corporate know that this happened.

My daughter used to be an assistant manager at one and has never heard of anything like this with the exception of someone with a visible weapon making people nervous (her case was someone sitting outside playing with a knife).

Unreal.
That kind of surprises me at a Walmart.
In socialist states, they probably don't sell guns. Our local one doesn't.
But they do sell ammo, and free state Walmarts still sell guns, as far as I know.
You probably should contact corporate.

The only time I'm not wearing my NRA hat is when I'm wearing my Trump 2020 hat. I had one guy at the gym give me a weird look once when I had on my Trump hat but no one's ever said a word.
