Five Stages:

Roundabout
Five to Go

General Principles:

Steel Challenge scoring is simple: your time is your score!
Each stage consists of five targets, commonly referred to as plates. Four are standard plates, and the fifth is designated as the stop plate.
Each of the standard targets must be hit at least once before hitting the stop plate, and the time stops when the stop plate is hit. Competitors may fire as many rounds as they deem necessary for each string of fire. The worst string on each stage will be thrown out, and the total of the remaining times will be competitor’s score for that stage. All stages will be shot five times with the exception of "Outer Limits" which will be shot four times.
The maximum time allowed for an individual string is 30 seconds.

***NOTE***

*HSC is a COLD RANGE: All firearms will be kept UNLOADED except on the firing line under the direct supervision of a Match Officials.
*Gun handling at Safe tables only and must be brought to the firing line in a holster or case.
*Eye and ear protection is required for all shooters and spectators.
*Holsters: In general, holsters shall be mounted in the general vicinity of the waist, must cover the trigger, and must safely hold/retain the gun. All Centerfire handguns must be appropriate for holster use.
*HSC will allow "Low Ready" starts for Centerfire handguns (2 seconds added per run)
*Rimfire competition does not involve the use of a holster
*Each competitor is expected to come to the firing line ready to shoot, with an appropriate amount of ammunition in an appropriate number of magazines or speed-loaders or other loading devices.
*Minimum cartridge for centerfire competitions (38 Special, 9X19).
*Rimfire firearms must be .22 Long Rifle (.22LR) only
*Any ammunition deemed unsafe or likely to damage the targets will be removed from use
*Any standard plate which has not been hit before the stop plate will count as a Miss. Each Miss on a standard plate will result in a 3 (three) second penalty, added to the shooter’s time for that string.
*If the stop plate is not hit, the score for that string is 30 seconds

As eisenhow stated, we used to get done about 12:30-1:00, our last match was attended by a good number of folks but still seemed to run smooth, though we didn't get done till the 1:30-2:00ish.
Not a big deal except for the folks that want to shoot a second gun, we glutton's for punishment decided to forgo
the second gun last month (smartly I might add) and I'm going to lay the ground rules right here for this Sat. match.

If we don't have a ready to rock and willing to help tear-down crew by 1:00 at the latest then we will not do a second gun.
Please let us know if you would like to shoot a second gun at sign-up, we won't take any money at that time, just start a list.
When your done your first gun re-gear up and wait at Bay 1/Stage 1 for an answer if we will continue with the 2nd gun.

Weather forecast looks great with temps in the 70's but maybe a little breeze to keep things cool.

And remember, when the temps go down those semi-auto 22's slow down and start jamming, clean 'em up and leave them
drier than usual, or not, it's up to you [smile]

See ya Saturday !

Thanks for running a great match! It's been a while since I shot SC, I forgot how fun it can be.

Mike, can you explain the A or U in the class column

Nope [wink]

My guess is that it may be a new default in this version of practiscore. We don't pull classifications since USPSA and SCSA haven't fully integrated with each other and with practiscore.

Peter are you running iOS 7 on your phone? After you left I continued having problems seeing the nooks with my iPad running iOS 8 but my phone saw them fine iOS 7. I will see if I can replicate it and report it to practiscore.

Great match guys, I'll definitely be making it to more of these!

My phone was running iOS7, haven't upgraded to 8 yet. I have a iPhone 5 that's upgraded to iOS 8 and my wife's iPad is also upgraded so maybe I can do some testing

And at the tail end of the conversation I finally chime in [smile]

Thanks to all who came out to work and shoot the match, little chilly at the start
but warmed up nicely.

As always these matches couldn't happen without all of you, hope to see you all in October.

PS ! !

When do these get uploaded/sent to SCSA? I'm not seeing this match in my classification (or anyone else's- my # is correct on the match results).

So far SCSA has not been able to take results directly from Practiscore. Practiscore has become the defacto standard for USPSA and is what we have used for scoring this year. Last week I found out that there finally may be a way to report results to SCSA without the antiquated EZSteel. We are planning to look at this for next season.

I know that the Practiscore team is working on it. I was recently contacted for the source code used to parse and post on www.steelchallenge.com. The Practiscore team is pretty sharp, and I am confident they will deliver on this - especially since posting to the Steel Challenge site is the only way to have results used for classification.
