Down here in Georgia squirrel season will be open soon. Are you getting ready to put a bunch of tree rats in your freezer? I love to cook them in a crock-pot like beef stew, but add squirrels instead of beef. How about Posting your favorite recopies.

I use my super duper S.S. 10/22 with a KIDD 2.5 pound single stage trigger and an ARCHANGEL AAP1022 DESERT TAN STOCK with a BUSHNELL RIMFIRE 3-12x40MM scope that has a 4-plex reticule.

PS: I marinate mine with Italian salad dressing overnight then brown them in a frying pan then put them in the crock-pot with one can of diced tomatoes, sliced mushrooms, sliced onions, canned corn and string beans and especially carrots and canned new potatoes which I love. Add salt and pepper to taste. Cook on low for 6 to 8 hours.

For beef pot roast I put a pot roast in it instead of the squirrels.

around my neck of the woods, woburn, i use the snowdevil ergonomic snow shovel with carbide fore end blade to scrape 'em up off the pavement. really not much left for a good stew but i can sometimes salvage enough for a wicked pissa stir fry. takes me back to when i was a youngin' down in the holler dancin' with the forest faries.

They do make a good crock pot stew. Marinated in coke for 4 hours and then put on the grill isn't bad either. That said I do that when out in the woods and not near a crock pot!!!

I already added this recipe to the other squirrel thread.
