    Hello North East Shooters,
So I received an email from Gun parlor saying Springfield pistols are now mass compliant! that is kind of exciting, anyone else hear the same? Last i read is that Springfield had no intention of complying with Massachusetts strict laws!

Can you hear that? That the sounds of everyone's unobtainium Springfield pistols value crashing. [laugh]

Actually I'd be interested to see what models this covered. Don't really care about their plastic models, but if it carries a few of their 1911s I'd be happy.

Cool...I actually wanted an xd9 when they first came out, but then I bought a shield instead...because I couldn't buy the xd9. Now I have more guns than anyone could ever want so I don't think I'll be buying any more ever again but thanks for the PSA.

i'm just gonna run out to grab some milk and cigarettes at the honey farms...I'll be right back.

I've got an older, carry comp 1911 from SA. Nice, accurate pistol - I just don't really like 1911's, the XDs look like a nice upgrade for me. I like to keep .45ACP in the stable, and I'm not thrilled with Ruger's offerings.

I know we're still in the boycott Springfield Armory phase - but by the time I get around to buying, they'll be back in our good graces.

I have the stainless range officer and love it.

Springfield must have gotten desperate for sales after their debacle a few months back? So much for ‘never in MA’

You could always buy the XD9 you just didn't try hard enough. MA gun owners need to turn off the Linkin Park "Crawling", stop cutting themselves, and go get what they
want instead of going all emo every time they see a gun that's not on a stupid list.

BigAl23 in the other thread said there was a typo in the EOPS list (go figure, they even F'ed up their stupid limited entry list)

So what? Aren't Glocks on the list too? Don't see any new ones on the shelves.

The legal problem is that regardless of the error and who may be responsible for it, the way they created the CMR, that correction can't be made until a new list is published 3-4 months from now. Thus, legally no FFL should be transferring the gun that they INTENDED to put on the list. The EOPS List of record is the one published in the Boston Globe and other papers of record (at a cost of many thousands $$ each time).

Yes it is dumb that that's what happens when they create laws . . . there are unintended consequences.

Not long ago, the approved weapons roster was posted in a .DOC format. Anne Marie Resca was the author. Perhaps she could alter the posted PDF, to correct it?

True, but LEGALLY, the published (dead trees newspapers) list is the ruling list . . . strictly because of the way the CMR was written. During the hearing for that CMR I lobbied them to make the state website PDF be the "legal doc" . . . if they had done that typo errors could easily be corrected and moved on immediately when found . . . but no, they did it the worst way possible (and most expensive).

I'll be getting a range officer for sure. I hope this means that their XD-E will become compliant later, I don't hate the sound of a hammer fired single stack.

So, if Springfield was smart (and cared that much about us) they'd make a safetyless, high cap, super dooper killy handgun and label it the XDG91101 and start selling it. Maybe have the slide emblazoned with "Eff you Dimples!"

well the XD-E is a single stack that weighs 25 oz. no thanks. my p30sk weighs less and it's a 10+1 double stack.

    - - - Updated - - -

Well seeing as they attempted to sell out to the gungrabbers in their own home state if illinois, I could say with some conviction that Springfield Armory does not care about much of anything other than selling their shitty products.

I need to try the HK sk's with finger extension, see if it's more comfortable. Quite a bit wider though, so I see the appeal of the XD-E
