I have a friend who needs to sell his SA 1911-A1 the number on the box is PB9108... At the most he shot 100 rds.. It was notbought in Mass he doesnt remember when he got it, but says it was awhile ago. He might have bought it in Alaska. Any suggestions on the price. Im not to up on the SA guns.. I have a general idea, but want to make sure it goes for a fair price for him. I just got it from him and havent been able to find out much about it online

I dont beleive it has the ILS?. He said when he bought it the dealer told him it didnt, how would I check it?....I looked on gunbroker, but the only problem with GB is that the prices dont reflect Mass sales.. Which we all know are quite different depending on the gun..

I actually don't mind stuff like that. It is really handy to have a Glock with the locking system. I just lock it if I have to. No unloading, etc. I am not speaking towards the benefits of the ILS as I don't know how it works, but Glock's is really not intrusive. If it is disabled it is completely inert and can not physically impede operation. It's impossible to do so because there is no positive connection to the firing mechanism unless it has been activated. When I first bought it I was cursing it but it can be really handy. The ILS may be different though. The S&W revolver version is and always intrudes on the operation of the gun, regardless of it's state of operation.

The other thing is even if it did have ILS, a trip to brownells, and a hammer will probably fix that problem in about 5 minutes.

To contribute nothing to the conversation yet still clutter up/bump the thread, I would say the gun is worth any pile of cash a newly minted LTC holder in MA is willing to pay for it.

LOL... Thanks.... I think I will keep it.. Its so hard pricing some guns in mass.. There shouldnt be a distinction between Free States and Mass..Unfortunately for us there is.. Im usually pretty good at judging the prices but I wasnt too sure about this one and put the feelers out.. Someone can tell you that a gun is worth x amount of dollars, but if no one is willing to pay that amount, the guns no worth that..
