Police found 18 .45-caliber shell casings at three locations in Quincy, Braintree and Weymouth after reports of shots fired Sunday night and Monday morning.

The most dramatic scene appears to have been on Arborway Drive in East Braintree, where officers found 10 casings and damage to a power line. Residents say someone pulled a gun on them earlier in the night, police said.

No one appears to have been injured there or at the Quincy and Weymouth scenes.

The first reports of shots fired in that area came at 8:20 p.m. Sunday from Quincy Point, where multiple people called 911, Quincy police Sgt. Karyn Barkas said Monday. Officers found four .45-caliber casings on Arnold Street, but no damage and no victims, she said.

At about 8:30 p.m., Braintree police were called to Arborway Drive, which is about a mile from the Arnold Street location in Quincy, for reports that someone had pulled a gun on residents, Braintree Deputy Chief Sean Lydon said Monday afternoon.

He said residents reported that someone came up to their house and pointed a handgun at them but did not fire it. Lydon said it was not random.

“The people knew each other,” he said.

Four hours later, Braintree police were called back to that same area, this time for reports of shots fired. That’s when police found the 10 casings and a power line that appeared to have been struck and snapped by a bullet, Lydon said.

At about the same time, Weymouth police received calls for shots fired on Fairlawn Road, across the Fore River, according to a police repor. Officers found nothing, but as they were leaving the scene 15 minutes later, they heard four gunshots.

At about the same time, the officers saw a black SUV with a headlight out speed past them, traveling north on Norton Street. Police say the SUV accelerated when it passed the officers’ cruiser, and Weymouth police weren’t able to find it again.

Officers returned to the area where they had heard the shots and found four .45-caliber shell casings in the northbound lane of North Street near Abigail Adams Circle, in the area the SUV was coming from before it passed the officers. That area is about a mile from the Arborway Drive scene in Braintree, though it’s more than 2 miles by road.

Lydon said the Braintree, Weymouth and Quincy departments are sharing information about the incidents.

“All the departments are working together to get to the bottom of it,” he said.

He said gunshots are uncommon in South Shore communities and acknowledged it would be particularly unusual for multiple unrelated ones to happen the same night. But he said police had not determined that Sunday night’s incidents were related.

“Nothing is confirmed,” he said.

None of the three departments had further information Monday afternoon. Police say anyone might know something about the incidents should call one of the departments

The guy is a hell of a shot if he could shoot the power line down on the “it was not random” people. I’ll give him a wide berth if I see him.

Well, at least the didn't find 45 .18 caliber shell casings...

Simple explanation for all of this: ghost guns discharged = ghost victims killed. The bodies are there, people, we just need to get the latest spectral analyzer and PKE meter from Optics Planet.
