When you hear about Obama using his power to issue executive orders for gun control measures many people have forgotten just what power a President has to cancel our constitutional rights and the rights contained in our bill of rights. Oh and if you think that the Supreme Court will uphold the Constitution and our right well check back in our recent history from 1940.

When you read internment camps think FEMA Camps,

When you read United States Census Bureau think national gun registry.

I am not saying this is what will happen.

All I am only saying is that in recent US history an American President issued an Executive Order that:
- round up American Citizens who had done nothing wrong
- gave them 7 days to sell all their belongings and businesses
- were forceably moved out to desert locations

Also Dec 18, 1944 Korematsu v U.S.: U.S. Supreme Court rules that one group of citizens may be singled out and expelled from their homes and imprisoned for several years without trial, based solely on their ancestry.

Do not say or think it can't happen here or it can't happen again!

Japanese-American internment
was the relocation and internment by the United States government in 1942 of about 110,000 Japanese Americans and Japanese who lived along the Pacific coast of the United States to camps called "War Relocation Camps," in the wake of Imperial Japan's attack on Pearl Harbor.[SUP][2][/SUP][SUP][3][/SUP] The internment of Japanese Americans was applied unequally throughout the United States. All who lived on the West Coast of the United States were interned, while in Hawaii, where the 150,000-plus Japanese Americans composed over one-third of the population, an estimated 1,200[SUP][4][/SUP] to 1,800 were interned.[SUP][5][/SUP]

Of those interned, 62% were American citizens.[SUP][6][/SUP][SUP][7]
[/SUP]
President Franklin D. Roosevelt authorized the internment with Executive Order 9066, issued February 19, 1942, which allowed local military commanders to designate "military areas" as "exclusion zones," from which "any or all persons may be excluded."

This power was used to declare that all people of Japanese ancestry were excluded from the entire Pacific coast, including all of California and much of Oregon, Washington and Arizona, except for those in internment camps.[SUP][8][/SUP]
In 1944, the Supreme Court upheld the constitutionality of the exclusion orders,[SUP][9][/SUP] while noting that the provisions that singled out people of Japanese ancestry were a separate issue outside the scope of the proceedings.[SUP][10][/SUP]

The United States Census Bureau assisted the internment efforts by providing confidential neighborhood information on Japanese Americans. The Bureau's role was denied for decades, but was finally proven in 2007.[SUP][11][/SUP][SUP][12]

Executive Order No. 9066
The President

Executive Order

Authorizing the Secretary of War to Prescribe Military Areas
Whereas the successful prosecution of the war requires every possible protection against espionage and against sabotage to national-defense material, national-defense premises, and national-defense utilities as defined in Section 4, Act of April 20, 1918, 40 Stat. 533, as amended by the Act of November 30, 1940, 54 Stat. 1220, and the Act of August 21, 1941, 55 Stat. 655 (U.S.C., Title 50, Sec. 104);

Now, therefore, by virtue of the authority vested in me as President of the United States, and Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy, I hereby authorize and direct the Secretary of War, and the Military Commanders whom he may from time to time designate, whenever he or any designated Commander deems such action necessary or desirable, to prescribe military areas in such places and of such extent as he or the appropriate Military Commander may determine, from which any or all persons may be excluded, and with respect to which, the right of any person to enter, remain in, or leave shall be subject to whatever restrictions the Secretary of War or the appropriate Military Commander may impose in his discretion.

The Secretary of War is hereby authorized to provide for residents of any such area who are excluded therefrom, such transportation, food, shelter, and other accommodations as may be necessary, in the judgment of the Secretary of War or the said Military Commander, and until other arrangements are made, to accomplish the purpose of this order. The designation of military areas in any region or locality shall supersede designations of prohibited and restricted areas by the Attorney General under the Proclamations of December 7 and 8, 1941, and shall supersede the responsibility and authority of the Attorney General under the said Proclamations in respect of such prohibited and restricted areas.

I hereby further authorize and direct the Secretary of War and the said Military Commanders to take such other steps as he or the appropriate Military Commander may deem advisable to enforce compliance with the restrictions applicable to each Military area hereinabove authorized to be designated, including the use of Federal troops and other Federal Agencies, with authority to accept assistance of state and local agencies.

I hereby further authorize and direct all Executive Departments, independent establishments and other Federal Agencies, to assist the Secretary of War or the said Military Commanders in carrying out this Executive Order, including the furnishing of medical aid, hospitalization, food, clothing, transportation, use of land, shelter, and other supplies, equipment, utilities, facilities, and services.

This order shall not be construed as modifying or limiting in any way the authority heretofore granted under Executive Order No. 8972, dated December 12, 1941, nor shall it be construed as limiting or modifying the duty and responsibility of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, with respect to the investigation of alleged acts of sabotage or the duty and responsibility of the Attorney General and the Department of Justice under the Proclamations of December 7 and 8, 1941, prescribing regulations for the conduct and control of alien enemies, except as such duty and responsibility is superseded by the designation of military areas hereunder.
Franklin D. Roosevelt
The White House, February 19, 1942.

Constitutional rights are not cancellable by executive order, regardless of what any president thinks, says or does.

i know its Wikipedia but I think if he were ever to do anything executive order based on guns it would be based off of this. Read everything and change the wording from gold to guns and you'll see what I mean.
It ordered confiscation of gold except collectors coins and small amounts. It also ordered search of safety deposit boxes in banks. They were given vouchers for the gold all of this could fit a gun confiscation order.

It agree with you! But tell that to all the AMERICANS that were rounded up and placed in internment camps for 4 years. They were flashing copies of the US Consittition and the Bill of Right as they were being herded into truck and trains to the internment camps by the military . A lot of good that did them....

"Secretary of War" sounds better than "Secretary of Defence"...
I miss the old days when you called a spade a spade.

They didn't go door to door and confiscate gold. It was voluntary. I'll venture a guess that most people that stored their gold outside of the banking system kept their gold.

It wasn't voluntary it was a 10 year prison sentence if caught hording gold they had a deadline date by which to turn it in and if it wasn't and you were caught with it you went to jail.

Guys, someone tell me how long ago Hitler was elected and killed 14 million people. Seriously, do I think this will happen in America during my life time? The answer is NO! ...but if we don't put an end to this socialism our grandchildren will.

However, ask yourself this question - How long ago did people elect Hitler and how many people did he kill? I'll give you a hint, it wasn't that long ago. Seriously, if you didn't know the answer go look it up.

I will also add, to anyone sarcastically throwing out the tinfoil hat.... stop being part of the problem and do your own ****ing history to see how shit goes down all over the world. What makes you think America is any different.

Tinfoil hats are for aliens coming down and probing your ass with a device... the .gov spying or shifting our humanity is not.

What strikes me as "uber-ironic" is one who has sworn to protect and preserve the Constitution is the first to find a way to circumvent it and usurp it...

I hate to say it but I think that people today live and think to much "in the minute".

Its not that the American people are dumb or ignorant, its just that with all they are doing in their daily lives,
they are just focused on earn enough money to pay the bills, feed the family keep cloths on their back, keep the car running and gas in the tank.

They worry only about the threat that is right in front of their face, not the one that may or may not come in the future. They live their lives in a "Management by Crisis" mode. I can't say thats wrong...been there done it also.

They have forgotten ( or never learned ) about history! They have tuned out politics and really have very little idea what really happens in Washington or what is done there. For them as long as "someone" " takes care of things" they are happy.

The problem is that if we don't get involved, monitor what is going on in Washington and take action now, there won't be much of a future as we currently know it.

My point was they didn't do a door to door confiscation, so unless you came forward voluntarily, you could keep your gold. You just had to hide it. Most people who were smart enough to not trust the banking system and the politicians (which are basically the same entity) successfully kept their gold without being directly confronted with violence.

Neither do I.

But if you asked me "would the US have secret trials in federal court" prior to 9/11, I would have answered "can't happen here in the US, we have freedom and due process".

Actually the American people were pretty smart in getting around the law... the law banned owning of Gold coins it did not band the owning of gold jewerly! Guess what large groups of people did with their gold!!!! Chains so large and heavy even Mr. T would have a problem wearing them.

Now for us today... I think a coat rack made from AR parts may be very attractive?... perhaps a indoor light bar made from and AR?...door handles made from high capacity magazine.... instead of tiles in you bathroom how about using AR magazines instead? You might not make the cover of "Better Homes and Gardens" with inside decor but you could make it into "Guns and Ammo" ! [rofl]

My grandparents did, they kept their gold behind the casks of whiskey, this was prohibition period also. For about a year they kept them together, they figured no one found their alcohol, keep the gold there.

Actually many people who had great amounts of gold shipped it to Switzerland to keep it from being confiscated.

I don't think we should call anyone stupid. Ignorance isn't stupidity, it's what happens when you're required to work your life away to make ends meet and you don't have time to be bothered with politics because you want to spend time with your 10 year old and see his school play.

Those people become reactionaries! In other words, they develop a "we have officers and politicians, so that's won't happen to me" mentality to go with it. Then when something happens they just react with all the limited information of an infant. For instance, little Johnny brings a snake home and mom freaks out and calls dad to come home because it must be poisonous and get rid of it because it's perceived to be dangerous and in reality it's a garter snake that is doing us a favor by getting rid of the rats. Dad throws it back in the garden to continue to do its job and mom becomes calmly indifferent again.

We must not be the same. You know how the wife standing on the chair in the kitchen looks? Pretty embarrassing, right? There is nothing wrong with mom telling Johnny to drop the snake in the sink and lets see if it is a threat. Look at it all rationally and then tell Johnny that the snake has a job back in the garden so you can't keep him in the house. Johnny will be a better man for the experience and won't be laughing at mommy later.

The bottom line is there are two things in the world.
1.) Things I can change or effect.
2.) Things I can't do anything about.

If an executive order is going to happen then it will be with forces beyond our control and it will have to happen before we can react. You can't arrest a man for thinking about murder. And here we're not even talking about something he's thinking... We have no idea! We have nothing to go on. I doubt he even knows what he will do! He probably had an idea when this started and after talking to people I'll venture that original idea has morphed quite a bit.

Right now we need to focus on what we can change and we can effect. If and when an Executive Order happens we can complain and yell, but now isn't the time. Let's get focused on real change.

Other stuff that "can't happen here!!!

Suspose I told you that the United States could be run by a person that was not elected by the people to be President!

Could never happen huh? Well guess what it did folks!

President Gerald Ford was the President and he was never elected by the American people to that office.
Pres Nixon had Agnew as VP ( Both elected ) Agnew resign the office of Vice President (VP).
Nixon replaced him by appointing then House Minority Leader Gerald R. Ford to the office of Vice President.
Ford was not elected by the Amercan people for the VP!
When Nixon had to resign because of Watergate,
Gerald Ford.... the unelected Vice President became President of the USA.

So who is to say..."It can never happen!"

The time is NOW folks grab you guns and start your march on Washington, typing shit here on the forums amounts to nothing and a waste of time...and makes for super boring circle jerk discussions.

Rise up brothers! Actions speak louder than words....start the fight and make us all proud!

P.S. make sure you YouTube it or at least post your progress here.

Just the other day I told my wife, "I wanted a nice retirement, but I don't think I can walk away with the country in the mess it's in."

I don't want to leave this mess for my grandchildren. In my opinion, it isn't right to leave this mess for others to solve.

It only matters if I want another Russian AK style rifle (which I do). The only thing he could really ban via executive order is imported rifles.
