you shouldnt get any days off. You should always be open when it is more convenient. And it is more convenient when I am not working. [grin]

What is this thing you call 'work'? [smile]

For the first time in almost 40 years, I don't have to worry about company infrastructure, phones, electricity, computers and all the other stuff that gets busted, fallen on, blown away or sunk when a storm hits. For a few years, in addition to my IT job, I also was facilities manager for several years and all that crap was my problem. I'm just glad that someone else had to worry about the Mayflower II, so I didn't.

I sorta miss the excitement and challenge.

I called the emergency closing line for my company when I woke up - "closed for severe weather" [party]

I have my work laptop though, so I may still try to get some stuff done.

Working from home, while the kids are playing monopoly with their mom downstairs. I've been hearing police and fire sirens all morning. Lucky my job allows me to connect into the office remotely.

At 4 am there was little traffic, less wind and just a drizzle. Just a question, if the state tells all non-essential state workers to stay home, why do we need them at all? It would be one way to balance the budget and have a surplus.

I was in at 6:30 did my run and was back at the warehouse and on my way out the door by 11:30. I stopped by the Stop$Shop on my way home to check out the mayhem and now I'm getting ready for some lunch time beers.

My Wife's employer never calls off work for any reason since they are the largest hospital conglomerate in MA, even for truly non-essential (no patient interface) people doing corporate admin tasks. However, Devil shutting the state down means that the T shutdown at 2PM today and the hospital was forced to let their admin people go home early . . . or they would be sleeping in their offices for a few days.

I walk dogs, and some of my crazy clients have apparently gone to work, so I still have to drive ALL OVER THE STATE and walk people's dogs. Thrilling.

Work is always on here unless the power is expected to be out for the entire day. The only time I got sent home was when I showed up the day of the ice storm. The power was back up in under 24 hours, and my apartment 4 min down the road was out for over a week.
